The Belvedere had some interesting architecture and some crazy decorations. Pool was a bit small and not heated, hot tub was nice. Lots of places to sit and relax and cool little nooks and crannies with nice views of the ocean. There isnât really a bar option or anything by the pool so make sure to bring your own booze. Resort is clothing optional and there are a lot of areas to uh do stuff if thatâs what you are looking for. I thought the prices were outrageously expensive per weekend night for a room that was pretty cramped overall. Breakfast is also raided by 10 so youâre out of luck if you want something decent. Breakfast is very much pastries and fruit kind of deal so donât expect eggs or stuff like that. Vending machines around the hotel are available but be prepared to pay 3.50 for a can of soda. It wasnât a bad stay but I expected more considering in total it was over 500 per night for our room. There was also no moisturizer in the room. Two of the towels were taken by housekeeping and not replaced on one day. Just little things⌠Will likely stay at a different hotel in cherry grove when we come back and hopefully find some place that doesnât cost an arm and a leg. This hotel was more like a 3.5 but...
Read moreThe Belvedere has been our home away from home for more than a decade. My husband and I have never been one of the Fire Island âshareâ community because this hotel offers everything we need and more. With its quirky and beautifully decorated bespoke rooms, it offers something for any gay man looking for connection, anywhere from friendship to something more. The rooms on the bay are particularly breathtaking and the perfect spot to end an evening and enjoy looking out at a spectacular sunset or a star-filled sky! We usually have five extended visits a summer and are always treated like family. Julian and his staff are on top of everything and ready to deliver a perfect experience every time. And we highly recommend choosing Cherry Grove as your community of choice! With multiple terrific restaurants and as many bars with terrific entertainment options, the Grove is the only option in our opinion! And the Belvedere is far and away the best place to stay...
Read moreI'm giving the Belvedere a three out of five rating. The price for the week was high but acceptable, considering my husband and I had to switch rooms during our stay. The continental breakfast was disappointing with soggy pastries and mediocre coffee. The beautiful bay views and impressive bathing area were highlights. However, the closure of various parts of the hotel to guests was unexpected. The staff was friendly and helpful, except for encounters with the owner and his assistant. Their attitude was off-putting, especially considering the rates and one vending machine that stocked unhealthy snacks. The owner seemed to have a monopoly over Fire Island, as other facilities were closed. Interactions with him were frustrating and he seemed indifferent. Despite the appealing all-men's, clothing-optional concept of the hotel, the owner's arrogance and his assistant's indifference negatively affected...
