This will be an honest review.
This place is mismanaged from the ground up. From being incapable to book rooms with an already prepared list given to them by their group sales person to being incapable of providing any customer service experience.
I’ll start with the incapable management and front desk staff.
They have multiple sports teams staying in the hotel and it’s no secret that noise is up at those times. They have zero clue how to prepare or manage this.
An example of this;
They threatened multiple times to kick everyone in the hotel out, both teams regardless of at fault. Front desk was approached to clarify what exactly was going on as they had ignored instructions to speak to specific individuals about team related issues. The front desk lady decided that being questioned was unacceptable to the point she decided that dropping multiple F bombs at a mother on the team was her response.
Sue Walker who is in charge of group sales was contacted and as much as she apologized took zero action but was more than happy to collect on rates the hotel received for 18 rooms at a rate of $50 more than listed on their site.
The following day I was asked to come to the front desk, finally they were coming to the person listed to handle any issues on the team and go over the night prior…so I thought…instead I was confronted by a gentleman who decided to be completely condescending when again telling me we were all getting kicked out if there’s another issue due to an apparent argument between parents in the space they provided for parents to hang out in. It was easily explained and proven that it was not our team as we all left hours before said event due to being fed up with the hotel staff. This was irrelevant to him and he claimed that’s not his problem.
There’s zero upper management to speak to at anytime to take care of anything from booking issues, ant infestation at the breakfast centre to service issues.
The hotel itself is a demo zone of obvious neglect combined with being over their head in “Reno’s”. We were told we had two queen beds on the phone but were greeted with queen size metal bed frames with double box spring and mattresses, leaving lots of metal frame to smash yourself on.
The amount of water damage around the AC units in the wall under windows is crazy and without a doubt fails an inspection along with multiple leaking shower basins, room doors that don’t close or lock properly, mould smelling rooms, mould on the pocket doors they’ve used for bathrooms and an ant issue in February.
There is a line between aged and neglected, this is past neglect and is the definition of slumlord, from the way they treat their occupants to the state of their place of business is the exact definition of a slumlord.
The point of this review is to make it very clear that this place of business is incapable of not only managing their personal but their business as a whole. Management will take zero responsibility for how they do or don’t do things along with being absolutely invisible when needed.
1 star is because zero is not an option, don’t waste your time or your sanity with this place no matter what at any point or time.
IF YOUR A SPORTS TEAM STAYING, DECLINE THE...
Read moreI booked two rooms for two nights, as i was traveling with friends.
For my room, I booked a King Suite with Jacuzzi in room. When I approached my room at Midnight for my first entry into the room, there was about 60 people partying across the hall in another room. They had VERY loud music, people yelling and screaming over the music, Marijuana smoke billowing out and all around just an unacceptable scene for a hotel at Midnight. I thought it was odd when I saw about 12 scantily dressed young women squeeze into the elevator during check-in, but little did I know that they were gonna be my surprise as I tried to enter my room.
After I got into my room, it smelled heavily of Marijuana, likely from flowing across the hall, but possibly from previous guests. I turned the TV on, but even at Max volume, I could still hear the partying across the hall.
At this time, I walked back down from the third floor to the front desk, and let them know about the situation. They seemed unphased, telling me that this happens practically every night. I said what are my options? They said that's the only available room.
Then he said he had non Jacuzzi rooms available. He told me the Jacuzzi tub in the room I had is broken anyways, so I wasn't going to be able to use it. That's very deceptive business to advertise Jacuzzi Tub Suites, at an elevated price point, and then not tell people the Jacuzzi doesn't even work.
We then moved both of our rooms from third floor to first floor. The Jacuzzi Suite was replaced by a ran down, mostly non-working handicap accessible "suite". The refrigerator didn't work. The Microwave sounded like an airplane was landing. The TV Remote was broken and non functioning. Half of the light bulbs in the room were burnt out. The bathroom fan made loud noises, but didn't spin. The Couch had very stained, ripped cushions. The shower had a wand type head, but was broken and ziptied to the bar, making it impossible to shower as it was about 4 feet off the ground. The Toilet has a crazy powerful flush mechanism, great, except the handle wouldn't flush it. We had to remove the porcelain cover and hit a button to flush.
No discount for the lower class of room. No refund for not receiving what we paid for. The hotel desk employees would make ZERO effort to remove the party from the 3rd floor. They said I could call the cops and deal with that myself.
This was the absolute worst hotel experience I've ever come across. Being a Choice Hotels Diamond Member for years, this was absolutely unacceptable. I will dp everything I can to make sure everyone knows to avoid this poor excuse for a hotel...
Read moreI recently booked airport parking at the Sleep Inn near the Buffalo airport. It was a relatively seamless process for booking, and parking. However upon our return I called the hotel for a shuttle and was given instructions on where to wait outside and that a green and white van would be dispatched to come pick us up. This first call was at 12:11 am. Our group waited patiently for about a half hour outside in well below zero temperatures before I called again and was told the same. Shortly afterwards an Orange van drove up that also had the Sleep Inn logo but the driver explained that it was a different hotel and service. He was however kind enough to radio the hotel and advised that a van had been sent and would be right behind him. Another 15 minutes passed so I called the hotel again...and was told that the driver had just left. |Another 20 minutes passed when a green and white van pulled up but there was a large group of people waiting and that van filled so we were left waiting again. I explained the situation and pressed the driver to please explain the reason for the delay. He was rude and avoided the question, and instead berated me for being upset with him. He said he would be back though. I called again after another 15 minutes and the person who answered said that he had been by several times already and there was no one there. I lost my composure at this point as I had not moved the entire time. They hung up.|Finally the orange van showed up again (third time) and the same driver recognized me and offered to give our group a ride. It turned out that I was parked in the lot of the Buffalo Airport hotel anyways, which is also apparently a sister hotel. |The moral of the story however is that we waited outside in below zero temperatures for an hour and 20 minutes for a 3 minute ride. |I am writing primarily in hopes that the staff can be reprimanded for their obvious incompetence. I filed a complaint with the parking service but they are only an app. There is no way to complain to Sleep Inn or their chain....the Choice Hotels about this matter. |If parking near the Buffalo Airport I would recommend The Parking Spot. I personally saw their shuttles arriving every 10 minutes and they would wait about 5 minutes before leaving. They are also right across the street from...
