How to begin... When you first walk in you know that you're in a business that's getting its feet under themselves. DO NOT JUDGE THEM FOR THAT. It feels like a diner from 1970. That's where the questions stop. From the moment you sit down to the time you leave, the family vibe is intense. We met the owner Nick who stumbled on his brewing capabilities by accident. We learned that it began with him bottling 150 bottles of his amazing Mead (maiden voyage) for a friends wedding. The response was so overwhelming he was talked into going into business. At our table the four of us sampled 2 different flavors, my first time trying Mead. It was a hit! Our server, Ania, was amazing, great sense of humor and extremely attentive. (have fun on your cruise and remember to sign up for the Top 10 of Miami on your debarkation day Ania!!) To my left was a picture window that looks into the wine brewing room. As we watched a woman mixing honey and fruits into a vat for a drink that will be ready in 2 weeks, not sure what it is exactly but eager to try it. We watched as family members would go in and check on her and the brew with taste tests and looking at it in a test tube. I also witnessed a girl come in with several banana bunches. Wonder where they use that in their drinks? Turns out that the woman behind the glass is actually Nicks mom. She even came out to see how we were doing and explained some of the drink making process. Extremely interesting. Now as a a self proclaimed chicken wing aficionado, I had to try the wings. Do we do the buffalo? Dr Pepper BBQ? Hot Honey Cajun? Lemon Pepper... oh the choices. We decided to try, based on Ania's recommendation, the "Street Fajita Wings" and their homemade "street sauce" in leu of blue cheese. OMG this dry rubbed wing was absolutely amazing. I can't wait to go back and have them again. In fact we decided that we may just go back specifically for those wings and a couple of drinks. Now for the main course, if you will. Its burgers and chicken handhelds. Gluten free options are plentiful! I had all the gluten they could bring me and it had Hot Honey Chicken in the middle. Honestly one of the biggest chicken breast I have ever had. Delicious! We will be back, and we cant wait until Tuesday! (closed sunday and monday) Good luck to Nick, Nicks mom and all the people that have supported and contributed to this venture. Buffalo needs more of these...
Read moreAs per a recommendation from an out of town business associate that ate here a few days ago while he was staying in a hotel near the airport, my wife and I decided to try this place out as we have been struggling lately to find somewhere to go close by to our house that is good and also not completely jam packed on the weekends. Our first impression when walking up was not the best as there were tons of weeds coming up through the pavers, and it just had an odd type of layout for the restaurant as it was attached to the hotel. It's hard to explain, but it felt somewhat odd inside, as the bar took up the majority of the space which gave it kind of an "off" feel at first. At first glance inside, it appeared to be just a "typical" hotel bar/restaurant with some basic tables and chairs along with some Buffalo Bills decor hanging on the walls, etc. Being a startup, I presume that they probably did not have the capital to invest in much for decor to start with so the vibe inside overall was somewhat basic.
Being a relatively new place, the staff was small, and the owner was present on the restaurant floor which is always a good sign. We were told that our server was on break, so another gentleman that worked there sat us at our table. He was very friendly and told us to sit tight, and that she would be right over.
After a few minutes, our server arrived and she was very friendly as well. We ordered the prime weck egg rolls as an appetizer and they were ABSOLUTELY amazing!! Our main dishes were the Italian Prime Sandwich for myself, and the Pork Sliders for my wife, both were extremely GOOD! Their fries were also perfectly seasoned and ketchup or salt and pepper were not necessary.
We were not able to taste test their craft beers as I was on emergency call for our company and unable to drink, and my wife chose to have the EBC Blackberry Kolsch because she likes it very much. But if their beer is like their food, I am sure it will be good next time we go.
My wife used the restroom, and said the hand dryer was very weak and probably needed to be replaced.
Other than some basic interior/exterior housekeeping, and adding a little more flair to the layout, this place has huge potential to be a staple in the area as a low-key place to grab an awesome meal and a great brew! Keep up...
Read moreAbsolutely loved our visit! The service was excellentâour waitress was super friendly and made us feel really welcome.
I had the Big Ditch Hayburner beer and it was fantasticâcrisp, refreshing, and full of flavor.
The chefâs special (Yggdrasil Bounty with grilled chicken) was not only delicious but beautifully plated. It felt like something out of a fine dining experience.
When we ordered the Chefâs Special the Chef came out to say they were out of zucchini . He really wanted to make us happy so the owner drove to the store to get some. While we waited they brought out complementary side salads for the wait. Two things here, we chose to wait, second the side salad was bomb. Not some little bowl of lettuce with carrots and a cherry tomato. It has pine nuts and pepperoncini and an array of veggies, not at all what you expect. It wasnât a long wait and well worth it. In the end the owner kindly offered us a complimentary cheesecake for dessert at the end. It was topped with fresh berries and almondsâlight, creamy, and honestly one of the best cheesecakes Iâve ever had. The Chef came out to check multiple times on us. Between the Chef, the owner and our waitress all five stars. That said, the food was the star. Amazing and not what was expected. Everything was so fresh. We have lived and traveled the world and no joke the food was on par with some very fancy and very expensive restaurants we have eaten at.
Great food, great service, and a thoughtful touch from the owner. Weâll...
