We stayed here for a week in August 2025. We've traveled the country and stayed in hundreds of RV parks, but this was one of the strangest ones we've experienced. They do some things right, and other things very wrong. First the good - the staff are friendly, they do have several amenities such as a dog park, laundry, pool, and a playground - comparable to a typical small KOA. Now the bad - the price, for what it is, is outrageous - at $107 per night average. That's approaching Disney Fort Wilderness pricing. For a KOA Holiday - this place is disappointing overall. We were put into the new section which is much nicer than the old section, but, ridiculously, to check-in you still have to drive through the very old and super tight section of the campground. Leaving the check-in area, you have to make an insane S-curve where we off-tracked well off the roads which are tiny and nowhere near large enough for modern RVs. The guy who escorted us to our site was a nervous wreck. The new section has many pull-thru sites, but even they are just barely adequate - ours was 70' long so as you can see from our photos we just BARELY fit into that site end to end- in fact, we didn't, our truck was slightly in the road. They did add an exit gate in the new section so at least you don't have to leave through the old section, which would have been nearly impossible, but even getting out of the new section isn't as easy as it should be because the roads aren't aligned properly so you have to watch your tail-swing to not hit a dog waste bin when trying to align to the exit gate, and then they put three poles on the right of the exit gate which are completely in the way for tail-swing as evidenced by the fact that one pole has been hit over and over and over and damaged who knows how many RVs despite this section being brand new. Obviously, whoever designed this campground, even the new section, is not an RVer and is oblivious to what it takes to maneuver a large modern RV. When we arrived, we learned that the new section is on a well which is contaminated with nitrates. I looked up their well test results and the latest nitrate count was 13 ppm (10 ppm is acceptable) so it's not outrageous, but still not drinkable. Fortunately, they did provide gallons of spring water for you to use for drinking, but they really should have communicated this in advance during booking, to let people know they don't technically have full hookups. You can use the well water for everything but drinking, so it's not terrible, but it's still annoying that they spring it on you upon arrival. Sadly, unless they can hookup to a municipal water supply or the aquifer improves, they may need to invest in a large RO water treatment system to remove the nitrates. Now, the trains. We've stayed in hundreds of RV parks and many of them have trains nearby, but the trains that go by here are louder and more frequent than most - maybe ten or more per day (and night) on average and they are loud enough to wake you from sleeping since they are ripping by at high speed. Overall, we were disappointed by this RV park,...
Read moreWent to KOA dells with a large group of 6 family’s 14 kids. 6/10-6/13. We all had cabins some 1 bedroom some 2 bedrooms and a couple deluxe cabins (large Baltic & small Broadway or Boardwalk) I forget name. We are going to start an annual group trip and plan to return! Some in our group even plan on returning this year! The customer service was great they even have a delivery option for office/store orders! The grounds and cabins where great! Employees great and friendly. I personally had the large sleeps 8 deluxe cabin Baltic I will include pictures if possible. We are not fluent campers so this was a great cabin to have and came in really handy after a few hours of heavy rain and most fire/grill pits where flooded but with the large propane grill at this site our large group could still enjoy! The amenities and queen bed was comfortable. The 3 boys 12,14,17 slept 2 in loft and 1 in bunks. I didn’t hear any complaints. The air was amazing in the cabin no worries there for the 90+ weather we had. The kids enjoyed the pool and basketball hoop. I read reviews prior to going and seen complaints about the train. I had no issues with the train over the air conditioning I couldn’t even hear it while sleeping it was a great white noise and I slept like a log which is amazing for me in a strange place/bed. It’s close to everything and lots of stuff in the office store including cheap ice!!! They have 10pm quiet time which I was a little worried about with our larger group but no worries we just turned the music down to a reasonable level and had a great time. We asked management/security that walks around if our noise level was ok and they said yes! Oh and unfortunately our 14 yr old realized after we returned home 3+ hr drive that his expensive Sony noise canceling headphones where not in his backpack! After reaching out to our group to see if was taken home by others as many of us left stuff at others campsites and got brought home. No luck so I reached out to KOA not expecting much but thankfully they did find them by the basketball hoop and where able to ship them to us immediately we had within 2 days!!! Oh and they had shampoo/conditioner and soap dispenser in...
Read moreWe have been traveling for a month now from FL to MN, and we stayed at this KOA in the Dells for 4 nights as it is close to town yet has a brand new section full of larger sites that accommodate big rigs. We have a 40’ Class A motorhome. We have a service dog with us, and I unwittingly checked the “1 Dog” box when I made the reservation. Well - their software automatically assigned us to one of the sites with an attached “Paw Pad”, which is a chain-link fenced section which takes up your entire grilling/lounging area adjacent to the parking spot (these spots cost extra too, I just didn’t notice it on the receipt) Anyways, I checked in and we followed the guide on his golf cart to the site, and saw what was waiting for us. (See pic). Although this new section is nice, MANY of the new sites have these “paw-pads”, and they are so close to the parking spot that you CANNOT OPEN YOUR DRIVERS SIDE SLIDE-OUTS when squeezed between the power pole/sewer drain and the fences. I had to ask (beg) to get moved to another spot that we could fit into. The employees hate the set-up, but claim “corporate” didn’t care about their input when designing things. NOTE: I know this is a trend with all the new RV resorts to build these damned fenced in dog runs everywhere, but we HATE them. Our dog is a trained service dog, not a rug rat that we stick in a pen outside. I never asked for the pen but the grumpy lady at the desk says it’s what you get when you claim a pet on your reservation (also you cannot check in before noon, under any circumstances, and even then it’s a $25 early check-in fee, FOR 1 HOUR). I personally can’t stand this trend of newer RV resorts building these pens everywhere, as it just encourages campers to leave their little terrors outside all day to yap non-stop at everything that moves. We will avoid parks with these from now on. (Edit: we are still waiting for the crabby office lady to give us the credit for not having the Paw Pad I...
