Are we drive an 18-wheeler truck, and it's great that they had enough parking to hold our truck.
As we travel across the country, we stay at multiple hotels every month. I love seeing the differences in the hotels, and unfortunately, this one was not one of my favorites.
They really just had the best price for the evenings that we stayed, and that's the only reason we chose them instead of the Comfort Inn & Suites across the way.
One thing I really enjoyed about this hotel was the fitness center. They had a lot of free weights. The only thing I didn't like about the fitness room was the fact that it was so small.
It could only accommodate two people comfortably at one time. Any more than that, you'll be ready to leave for fear of catching something 😞
The fitness center has fresh towels and ice-cold water. They also had free weights, and all of their workout machines were functioning. My husband and I had a great workout.
They did provide regular and decaffeinated coffee free to their guests located in the lobby. The lobby was warm, comfortable, and inviting. You could sit there and enjoy "check-in" TV or just watch regular ole TV.
Back to the room... Not only did the room have a 70s feel and look, the furniture was misplaced and it just needed better feng shui. don't get me wrong, the room was large but not decorated and unorganized.
We had to rearrange the furniture while we were there to feel more comfortable. However, we did put everything back in place before we left.
The bathroom was large and sanitized, at least the signs of the toilet said it had been sanitized. The shower pressure could have been better. The water came out light and airy, and nobody really likes that in the shower 🤷🏽
There was a huge mirror on the wall which doubled as the closet door. My husband had to discover that; I would have never known.
They had a great refrigerator. I mean, it got extra cold. And it was large enough to hold all the leftover food that we got from the I-84 Diner. One meal from that diner provided 3-4 servings.
Overall, we had a pretty decent stay here. The people were really friendly, including the hotel customers. What can I say...I...
Read moreWe stayed here last weekend because it was recommended by a family member, but we were horribly disappointed. Around 9 pm on the second night of our stay, we found a bed bug on the cloth shower curtain. We then checked all the sheets and beds, and we were horrified to find empty mini alcohol bottles underneath one of the mattresses. Evidently, the housekeeping staff did not really clean the room before our arrival.
We took the bed bug in a ziploc bag to the front desk, but Alice did not apologize and insisted this was a deer tick. We showed her side-by-side online photos of bed bugs and deer ticks to prove that it was clearly a bed bug. We have been hiking for years and have personal experience identifying deer ticks. We also had the bed bug identified and confirmed by a family member who is a professional entomologist. Alice again insisted that it was a deer tick and said that housekeeping regularly cleans and sprays the rooms between guests; however, given the previously mentioned alcohol bottles underneath the mattresses, we weren't convinced that was true. She at first said that there were no available rooms for us to move to, but we said that we would be going home if we couldn't be transferred. She then finally looked in the system and arranged for us to move to another room. It was close to 10 pm at that point, so it was very inconvenient and tiring for us to have to check all the fabrics in the new room and all our belongings for other bugs. We honestly would have moved to another hotel if we could have, but there was no availability nearby.
At the time, we had asked whether we could get any sort of compensation for the inconvenience of having to transfer rooms so late at night but were told to call management a few days later. We did and were given a partial refund. Still, given everything that happened, we would not recommend staying...
Read moreUpdated review 2024: Still five stars! We booked this again for Easter Sunday night and had an even better experience than last time. If I could give more than five stars I would. The price was lower than anywhere else and I can tell you from a lot of hotel experience, this hotel and our room were on par with hotels of higher star classifications. This time our room did have a microwave, the toilet was absolutely fine, my husband took a shower and was blown away, literally haha, by the water pressure and the TV was easy to use. We asked for a first floor room and We were accommodated with a smile. Alice, who checked us in, was extremely nice and professional and I appreciated how she went over the Wi-Fi, breakfast and other aspects of our stay. I should also mention that the hotel is very close to the exit, but far enough away that it's very quiet. It's also right next door to the 84 diner, so if you are looking for a lunch or dinner spot, you are in luck. Great job guys. (I'm posting a photo of the shower head so I can look for one for my house!)
My review from a previous visit: 5 stars. It's very clean, spacious, bagged breakfast on par with any other hotel I've been at and the best price around. There's no microwave in the room, some of the furniture isn't the prettiest and the toilet had a tiny problem with running. However, this is technically a two-star hotel and the price reflects that. If you want more amenities you can pay more and get something a little bit of a step up, but for the price and the expectation I give this five stars because it exceeds my expectations. If anyone is wondering, the breakfast consisted of English muffin with egg, a pastry type bagged product, a juice and a light...
