Stayed at the Hancock House Hotel for one evening during a motorcycle trip to see the foliage in the Catskills. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, water pressure was good, and the shower water was nice and hot. The room also had enough outlets and USB ports to charge devices. The only nitpick I had was the furniture was a little dated and looked worn. The room rate was $155 ($170 with taxes). We also ate in the bar for dinner. I had a bacon cheeseburger that was delicious (cooked to perfection and quality beef). We also had breakfast in the restaurant although breakfast is not complimentary. The attached pictures we took at sunrise. All in all, a very nice stay and the foliage in that area was just stunning the days we were there.

We stayed here while in the area to visit my spouse's family. We had stayed at the Bass Cabins at French Woods Golf Course the previous summer, which has the same owners. The cabins were full on the weekend after July 4 so we tried out a stay at the Hancock House Hotel. ||The night we arrived we ordered food from "Honest Eddie's" Tavern on the first floor which is named after "Honest Eddie" Murphy, a baseball player from Hancock who had been in 3 World Series. Appropriately enough we were watching the Red Sox | Yankees game on the TV while we waited. A man stopped by and he and my spouse began chatting about the region, landmarks and found out there were people they knew in common. After he left the bartender let us know he was the owner of all of the properties, the Bass Hancock House, cabins and golf course. So the owner is attentive and on the premises. The food was great too. ||The rooms are immaculate, had cold A/C which was welcomed on a series of 90 degree days, the bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows, and instead of little plastic bottles the soap and shampoo are in dispensers on the walls. ||It is very close to fishing areas, hiking trails, French Woods Golf Course and it was a great hub for us to explore the area and visit everyone. ||All of the staff were universally friendly and helpful. Huge thanks to Rosie who helped us with the reservation and check in. ||Ample luggage carts to move your luggage downstairs too. ||We...

My fiancee' and I stopped here on a warm Sunday in July, after a relaxing round of golf at nearby French Woods (owned by the same family as the hotel). We drove down from Binghamton and had this trip planned out as our date night. We'd never eaten here, but the building looked really nice and we'd heard the food was good. We opted to sit in the bar vs the restaurant, so we could play some quick draw and have a couple pints while we waited on oir food. The first thing we noticed was that the bartender (mid 30's looking female) was downright rude to almost every customer she encountered. One woman came in and asked if she could sit at a booth and order food. The bartender looked at her with a cold stare and flatly said "might as well". She also loudly chastised another customer for not returning his glasses after he ordered a few rounds of drinks, and totally ignored two women in another booth to the point that they had to approach the bar to ask for some service after 15 minutes of waiting. The food was decent, but tepid; and we waited about 30 minutes for it. All in all, we weren't impressed and won't be back. It's really too bad, because the atmosphere and decor are otherwise very nice. I hope the owners monitor these reviews and make the...
