I have nothing to gain by writing this post other than to share an amazing find! 😊. We took my mom for a long overdue girls trip that was originally supposed to take place last year in NYC (pre-pandemic). Fast forward to a year and a half later, the city no longer seemed to be the right fit for something special for my mom. Instead, we heard about the new Fire Island Boatel located in Kismet. My mom has always loved the beach and that fit seemed perfect! It was a short ferry ride from Bay Shore (her first Fire Island trip ever), and was nice and close to the ferry dock. As we walked in the gate heading to our room, we were greeted by the property manager who welcomed us, showed us to our room, and pointed out what the property has to offer(barbecues, tables, outside showers, laundry and more). As we walked inside, we were all pleasantly surprised with the room! It literally had everything-a kitchen table, full kitchen with stove, refrigerator, microwave, etc, a King size bed, pull out sofa and gorgeous decor. I am a bit of a clean freak and the place was immaculate (which made me feel so much better about my mom staying there given the year we’ve had). The BEST PART of all was the view from our back deck. After dinner we all sat outside, had some coffee and watched the most gorgeous sunset right from our room. It was honestly picture perfect. I kind of wanted to keep this place a secret, but instead, I thought it would be best to share this amazing place with anyone that loves the beach, sunsets, and relaxing as much as I do. I cannot wait to do this again...
Read moreOur stay at the Boatel was the perfect Anniversary and the perfect getaway. If you sunrises, bike rides to quaint and charming fire island towns, a day at the ocean, perfect sunsets, lunch or dinner around friendly welcoming people, Kismet is the perfect place. Whether its a quiet day alone or a party atmosphere, you can find it here. Restaurants can be found locally or a short boat taxi away, which was great fun in itself! ||Our Suite had everything, as you can see on Boatel's website, yet pictures can't share it all. The owner thought of everything! Large private grounds with sitting areas and benches, tap to wash feet after beach, Weber Grills for use, outdoor showers, free ice, and laundry as well. Inside had beach chairs, umbrella, stove, a Keurig with k-cups, wine glasses and champagne glasses too. and Dan, the manager, was warm and welcoming from the 1st call, and the 1st emails to the last. Dan surprised us with a bottle of Champagne and Boatel shirts left in our Suite for our Anniversary! We were surprised at just how much the Boatel had to offer. From the moment we got up and shared coffee overlooking the quiet Bay, our days were perfect. Our stay was romantic, relaxing and fun! We left there planning our next visit, like you will as well. Don't miss the chance to...
Read moreHaving never been to Fire Island, we were so amazed how beautiful it really is there. We stayed at the Fire Island Boatel Kismet and we could not have picked a better place to get the true feel of what Kismet and the rest of Fire Island is really like. Our room was the “sunset suite” which I highly recommend for anyone who plans to stay there, although all the other 9 suites are beautiful as well. The sunset views are breathtaking. All the rooms have been totally renovated and the Boatel has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The Inn Keepers (Jill and Jimmy) are attentive to anything you need. You have your own private deck to sit out on in the morning to enjoy a cup of coffee while you enjoy the views of the Great South Bay or to sit back and relax after a day of exploring Fire Island. It’s just steps away from where the Fire Island Ferry drops you off or to get a Water Taxi to explore other towns on the Island. We highly recommend the Fire Island Boatel Kismet for anyone who wants to truly get a feel of what Fire Island life is all about. It is also conveniently located near great restaurants, entertainment, a great wine store and a market that has just about everything...
