Cottage Views B&B is a wonderful place to stay and that is just what we have been doing for the past 5 years and counting! Deb and Micheal's history and lives are as deep and rich as this beautiful B&B's history. Better than home away from home, Cottage Views B&B is nested close to everything in the finger lake area, Watkins Glen, and much more than I am even aware of. Years ago we traveled to the Watkins Glen area for a race, and didn't have a place to stay, we found another B&B the first year in the Montour Falls area but tragedy struck it the following year and I don't believe they were able to reopen. The owner gave me Michael's number with the most high recommendation and it didn't take long to see why. Deb and Michael care for their guests, for each other for the B&B with so much dedication, and they are truly amazing caring people who treat you much better that even your closet friend or family member ever could. There are several rooms to choose from and we have stayed in 2. The Renaissance room has a huge bed, a big spa like bathroom. There is a wonderful inside seating area outside of the room with antique chairs, books and every piece has a story to tell. You are steps away from morning breakfast and nothing beats waking up to that delicious aroma. If you prefer being higher up, and need or want more seclusion or need more that one room the Bronte room and the Shakespeare room have that option. We have stayed in the Shakespeare room the last four years. I love waking up, walking onto the deck with the views of the lake before the start of the day. Because we come for the race at the Glen it's a very calming place to open and shut your eyes each day (especially if you make it back for sunset) ||Breakfast is made fresh daily, with your taste in mind, and local ingredients supporting the community. We never eat better than we do when we stay at Cottage Views with Deb and Michael as chefs! If you take the time for stroll, or want to sit outside there are several places for you to stop and enjoy the grounds and even play horseshoes. I wish there were more people like Deb & Michael in the world and places to stay that even come close to Cottage Views B&B but because there aren't this is what sets them apart. We won't stay anywhere else, and we WILL be back for years to come. Thank you both for everything... can't wait to...
Read moreI am so excited to tell others of the Cottage View B&B. It is warm, welcoming, friendly and private. My husband and I have stayed at a number of B&B’s over the years and this one now sets the “high bar” for my standards. The atmosphere of the whole place is warm and cozy but I especially loved sitting in the library at night and enjoying a glass of wine with our hosts. (I actually took a week from the time we were there until now to write this review giving me time to come off the wonderful euphoria and yet I am still just as enthralled as when we first got there.) We have already booked a room again for the fall and I can not wait to see the lake view with all the fall leaves and colors. | This is a place that I would like to come to to just unwind from a busy life style. No agenda would be needed. Just come and sit on the patio or porch to rest and relax and maybe read. The back yard even has a horse shoe pit for a little fun. A few words can not say it all regarding this place. | One just needs to experience it themselves. If you have never stayed at a B&B, come to this wonderful place and fall in love with everything they have to offer. If you have written B&B’s off your list due to a bad experience, come here and let Michael and Debbie change your feelings. If you love B&B’s you will agree that this one is just tops and you will never want to stay elsewhere while visiting the Finger Lakes.| Thank you again Michael and Debbie we look forward to many visits...
Read moreIt’s our 4th visit to Debbie and Michael’s place( we could do it more often if the rooms weren’t so high in demand!). We came in both fall and summer, and every time we wished we could stay just a bit longer. It’s an amazing B&B right on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, with easy access to all the region’s attractions, sights, and yes, a plethora of wineries.
Debbie and Michael aren’t just wonderful hosts, they welcome you like you’re part of the family. They’re incredibly friendly, and can give you recommendations for just about any activity in the area. If anything, it seems like they really enjoy having guests in their B&B and are glad to help with any concerns.
We always stay at the “Writer’s Den” (2 bdr with a deck), and sunsets have never failed to exceed our expectations - the view from the deck is breathtaking, day or night. Rooms are very comfortable, clean and cozy. Internet connection is perfect, to the relief of my daughter.
Breakfast deserves 5 stars: the way Debbie and Michael serve the table with incredible care, delicious 2 course meal -- ingredients all fresh and local – everything is so visually aesthetic yet homely!
Every time we visit the experience is absolutely worth the travel, and it makes the perfect vacation spot to just unwind. It’s a lovely house with some of the loveliest people; we can’t wait to...
