I never take the time to write reviews but am doing so now because I was very impressed with this Motel. My family has been coming up to Tupper Lake for over 40 years. We have always rented a cabin for a few weeks at a time. My husband and I found ourselves in need of alternate accommodations after the septic tank in our cabin burst. We were quite concerned about what kind of accommodations would be available on such short notice. My husband needs wifi to conduct business and while I appreciate and love the the rustic feel of the town, I still wanted to feel like I was on vacation and wanted some amenities and modern touches in the room we would be staying in. Price was also a big concern. Needless to say we were thrilled with our stay at the Tupper Lake Motel. The rooms are very clean. That's most important to us. The room itself was quite simple and had that older "Adirondack rustic feel" (which we enjoy). The amenities are quite modern; flat screen TV, AC, wifi, microwave and fridge. It is also important to note that the room was quiet even though we were closer to the road than the other rooms. What sets this Motel apart is the new owners. Heidi (if I remember correctly) and her son Tyler go above and beyond to please their customers. They recently took ownership from the previous owners who ran the hotel for over 20 years and are very sweet, kind and accommodating. We found our experience to be very pleasant and wonderfully peaceful. We stayed for 2 days and have no complaints at all. Just the opposite. We very highly recommend the hotel!!! I am giving it 5 stars for what it is- a Motel. We saw a lot of other Motel rooms on our way to the Tupper lake Motel. All the other Motels were too rustic for my taste (spoiled city girl), too noisy (traffic on the road was loud) and the cleanliness was questionable. You really get a lot for your money and you cannot beat the cleanliness of the rooms and the service you receive...
Read moreTupper Lake Motel is a smaller roadside motel reminiscent of the 60s and 70s. There are no major chain hotels in Tupper Lake, so a motel is your best option. Heidi and Tyler, the owners, are wonderful, friendly, caring hosts and the rooms were very adequate.
The rooms have been recently renovated. They are very clean and pleasant. My room had very nice new woodwork, which reflected a lot of craftsmanship on the part of the owners.
We stayed at the Tupper Lake Motel for 5 nights while on a bus trip to the area to take a youth group to a nearby summer camp. The location was great, with a grocery store across the street, and multiple restaurants within walking distance of the motel.
When two of the drivers wanted to go fishing, the owners even arranged for a boat rental and drove them to the lake.
If I have the opportunity to return to Tupper Lake, I would definitely stay with Heidi and Tyler again, and would recommend this motel to anyone looking for accommodations...
Read moreIt was a Saturday night and I was just passing through Tupper Lake on a site seeing tour of the Adirondacks and decided to stop and rest for the night, it was way pass check in time and I could not find any vacancy at any of the other motels in town, the town was booked solid and was very unfamiliar, and the Tupper lake motel was my last hope of finding some where to stay but I drove pass it 3 times thinking now way am I staying there. Also this would be the first time in my life that I had to stay at a motel and the thought was unpleasant but I gave it a shot and ended up staying for 6 nights and enjoyed every bit of the motel stay the friendly people and the town. My stay at Tupper Lake Motel thought me that its ok and safe to stay at a motel in a small town, and so after that I was comfortable and sure about staying at 2 other motels in the days following on my way back home to Brooklyn New York. Thank you very much...
