My family we were doing a family a vacation from Washington to Cali/Vegas . We tried to get the Travelodge ,but they were charging 205 for a single king room and we had 5 people. So we went to motel 6 because it was across in and out and had availability. It was super last minute , we are glad they had rooms open since we been driving for 12hrs . And it was around 11pm
Should of guess that the hotel was sketchy when found addicts sitting outside the front lobby. When I parked had several patrons scouted out my vehicle and wife had to shoo them away .
Once we got the rooms got charged 122 for the rooms and got charged 105 for what I'm guessing is the deposit its been about 10 days and the deposit not back on my account . I may be mistaken though .
I digress my room was okay at first glance , seem fine. Then me and wife found alot of red flags within 10 minutes being in the room . Smoke alarm was detached from the ceiling, hole on the balcony covered with plywood, furniture was carved with graffiti. Our room 216 was on the side facing the McDonald's once we got in the room we attempted to close the door ,but the latch wasn't locking check it over several times and it wasn't closing properly. Seemed someone tried to pryed the door open. Wife and I moved the refrigerator to the front of the door as blockade, to our surprise 6 roaches scurried away towards the ac unit. I let the front desk know about all the issues . She offered a discount or another room . We picked another room .
As we were switching rooms within 15 minutes 1 set of officers were doing a wellness check for a patron in the hotel and and 2nd set of cops blocked off the entrance/exit of the facility because they pulled over 2 suspicious vehicles in the parking lot. Cops were in the motel parking lot for about 45 mins.
We moved all our stuff to the new room further down the motel near the pool area . I attempted to park my vehicle near the motel room ,but 2-3 cop cars were doing some type of search and blocked off the available parking spots. So I sat in my car watching some the patrons screaming obscenities to the officers . Once the cops left I parked my car , then I saw a gentleman rush down to a truck grabbed midsize garbage bag from a back of a truck and brought to his motel room. As walking upstairs there was feces at the bottom step of the stairs .
I was worried for my parents so I did a perimeter check of the inner part of the motel found stacks of garbage bags up to 5 feet tall against a wall and plentiful of dismantled appliances sitting on the outside of the motel rooms mostly air condition units . Went to my parents room found some strange drawings on a wall, which look like a person and a skull on the door. Family was unable to call front desk about wifi password because there was no phone line on the phone, the front desk said "why don't you use your cellphone to call" since their phone provider had no service they were unable too. Parents room sheets had stuff written the word "me",stain red or pink , and cigarette burns on them . They did get the wifi password from front desk.
The three rooms didn't have a peepholes looks like someone jammed them out so in three rooms you were able to look into rooms from the outside in. One room had a band aid covering the peephole .
Think this place needs a bit of TLC especially with the roach infestation and the garbage outside the...
Read moreOh dear. I hate to complain but hands down, this was the worst Motel 6 expeience ever. I travel often and I've been staying in Motel 6's often because theyre friendky, clean and reliable. But this location is a special case. It was by far the dirtiest strangest, creepiest Motel 6 I'd ever stayed in. Aside from the sweet girl that checked me in, it was bad. First, there was a huge pile of dog poo outside of my door. I walked my own dog to the way back in the designated pet area. Half the complex is abandoned in the back. The structure of that part of the complex has dirt on the walls and weeds growing out of the lot. Sketchy wanderers hanging out back there. This part of Ukiah is known for its methheads. Once I got to the pet area I found used condoms, a razor blade and broken glass on the ground. Oh boy. Feeling unsafe, I ended up driving and finding a soccer field at the Highschool 5 min down the way, whenever I needed to take my pup out, I'd go there.
The room itself: stained sheets. I sucked it up thinking 'ok sometimes you can't get the stains all the way out.' Next, in the bathroom there were dark red and brown spots on walls like old blood.. I started to wonder if someone had killed them selves or anyone else in my room. Along with the flickering fluorescent lighting, I would not have been surprised. I felt proper creeped out. The bed: I could feel the springs in my back. :/
The kicker- on check out day at 11am I was in the bathroom about to hop in the shower when I heard housekeeping incessantly knocking on my door. I figured if I didn't answer they'd go away. But then I heard a second male voice out there. I got redressed and answered only to see housekeeping and an older Indian man there w a clipboard. I figured he was the manager. He told me check out time was at 11. I was puzzled: Me: "really?" I thought 12pm?" Manager: "no 11 check out you must go" Me: "ok, I'll be right out" Manager: "ok thank you. I went to check my reservation online and sure enough it said right there, check out time 12pm. I rechecked the address and it was the right one. I ran out to show him. Me: "check out time is at 12pm sir." Man: "no 11am I told you." Me: yes but no one else told me that when I checked in and it says here on the website 12 pm check out" Manager: "oh I don't know about that, yes every motel 6 except this one." Me " no it says noon so I'll be leaving at noon" And I walked away. Strange yet annoying. I was scratching my head wondering if I'd somehow offended anyone there but I didn't even have contact with anyone there for the 3 days I stayed. But then I saw him knocking on all the doors. It wasn't about me.
I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I didn't shower. I just packed up and left the weirdest, creepiest, dirtiest Motel 6...
Read moreWe have stayed at both Motel 6 locations often over the last year. The south location is nice, super caring and friendly staff, however the north is the only place we stay now. It's no contest. First of all, the rooms are huge compared to any motel 6 we have stayed at. It used to be a discovery inn. The rooms we have stayed at are always between 149 and 163. Downstairs, non smoking. Except one time on top floor. It had carpet and we have dogs and cats so we didn't like it. The 1st floor rooms have vinyl looks like wood Which is perfect for us. Next, beds are queen double. OK if you need two beds. Can't say about singles. The beds are fairly comfortable, not 5 star, but nice enough. It has a fridge with freezer and microwave. A nice widescreen TV with plenty of channels, a large desk with chair and a comfy lounge chair. The plugs are a chalenge. Try looking behind bed under headboard. Also behind microwave. The room we are in, 152, has two plugs between bed over night stand. The bathroom is nice with sink, large counter space, blow dryer, open closet with iron and ironing board, hangers, etc. The bath part is compact with toilet and tub, shower combo (in ugly 1970s yellow). Towels are small. There is a dresser under TV too. Lots of storage with space to move around. As for pets, we don't mention them at checkin. They are free, but we just clean up real good after them. Have not really seen much grass to walk them, as opposed to M6 south, which has a clear dog area. There might be one and I don't know about it. Now for some cons. They are in the middle of remodeling and painting. Whomever they hired to past should be fired. A five year old could do better. In every room we have stayed in it had been ridiculous. No taping, lots of bleed through, just sloppy work, and they obviously don't care. But it is just cosmetic. Bonus!!! There is a large pool and it gets so hot here in Ukiah! Also a huge indoor spa with THREE heaten spas and a cooling pool. One has a lift for disabled. They are all nice sized, one large enough to exercise and swim a bit. My favorite has a rock waterfall you can sit under a different massages your neck. Ok, I can't say about other rooms but if these rooms are like this I imagine the rest are. Basically same as M6 south. Lastly there is a grocery store and shopping center across the street and fast food plus a wing stop right next door. They are RV friendly which helps. The staff is ok, too young with language barriers, but nice...
