Coackroaches in the rooms. On June 29, 2024 I was staying at La Quinta Coastal Palms. That night while I was sleeping a cockroach crawled on my head. I ended up falling back asleep and found the cockroach again the next morning but this time it was in the bathtub. I immediately called the front desk and Denecia answered. I informed her of the large cockroach that was in the room, and she told me she would have a maintenance man come investigate. I waited 15 minutes for someone to come remove the roach. After no one came I walked myself to the front desk to inquire once again about someone removing the roach from the room.
Eventually the maintenance man and the front desk clerk, Denecia, entered my room. I showed them the roach and it was my assumption that they would remove the unsanitary roach out of the room. THEY DID NOT REMOVE THE ROACH!! THEY LEFT MY ROOM AND LEFT THE ROACH ALIVE INSIDE THE ROOM! I was so angry and disgusted that I packed my bags and left the room early. Upon leaving I once again went to the front desk to ask Denecia, and this time the manager, why they left the roach in my room and did not remove it.
At this point this ordeal has been going on for 30 or more minutes with the cockroach still in my room alive. The Manager asked me "What I wanted them to do about the roach." They then told me that the roach was not an issue with their building, and it must have come in from outside, so it is not their problem. Denecia's exact words "It's a big roach and not a little one so it's not an issue with our hotel." (Check their security cameras for proof of this!) They even said it may have hitched a ride on my stuff into the room! Implying that I brought the insect in the hotel. They refused to remove the roach, falsely accused me of cursing and threatened to pull up security cameras to prove that I was cursing. I invited them to pull up the cameras to prove myself innocent of them accusing me of cursing! I do not curse! How dare them! Somehow, I became a target simply for wanting the roach removed from the $200 a night King Suite Hotel Room I paid for!!! They would not remove the insect and did not offer any compensation for leaving it in my room even after they came to look at it. They repeatedly said, "What do you want us to do about it." Again, since Denecia called me a liar and threatened me with security cameras, please, I invite you, review this entire situation on camera! They did not care about removing the insect and making it right for me and treated me poorly for evening exposing the issue. I didn't even get to shower before leaving because the roach was crawling around in the tub! I was treated poorly by the staff and left in tears. I have never experienced such rude and unaccommodating staff at a brand establishment in my life. I have never seen a cockroach in a LA QUINTA hotel either! How horrific and unsanitary!
After the staff accused me of bringing the roach in and called it "an isolated incident" and would not take responsibility for it, I went online to leave them feedback and warn others and found MULTIPLE other customers who had experienced cockroaches in their hotel rooms at La Quinta Coastal Palms! So not only did the management and staff know they had a roach problem, they blamed their customers (me!) for bringing them inside the hotel and allow them to crawl around rooms while customers are inside and then refusing to remove the roaches for their paying customers!!! They refused to remove the cockroach and then blamed me for cursing when I did not curse!!! Unbelievable! Please help me to get a full refund as promised by your agent I spoke to a week ago. I received an email from you all that the property never responded to your inquiry of the incident. I am not surprised at all by this! The staff including the manager Sherri has zero customer service or integrity. I am appalled at how much carelessness, disrespect and unprofessionalism they get away with.
