We spent four nights in the hotel and had a fantastic experience.
From the time of the booking, the staff was great. I had originally booked a hotel somewhere nearby, but after such a challenging experience with the staff and the reservation, I decided to cancel and book with Fairfield, despite a little higher cost--and let me tell you, it was SO worth it. The gentleman who helped with my reservation was efficient, helpful, and got me exactly what I needed with all the appropriate information (we received a reduced rate as part of a wedding group, and there was absolutely no issue with that process).
I wish I had names, but several of the staff went above and beyond in their service during our stay. One front desk worker printed material for us (we were in town for a wedding and were trying to print on cardstock/special paper, but the printer in the business center wasn't equipped to handle it), so the staff member offered to print it for us using your back printer. The print job came out beautifully and saved us a trip into Madison to visit a Kinkos.
Another staff member delivered milk to our room the afternoon we checked in for my one year old. She brought enough to last us two days and offered to bring as much as we needed at no extra charge.
On a few different occasions, I requested something else for my room (extra towels, an extra blanket, a pack n' play for my baby, etc...). The best part about each and every one of these situations is that your staff never once acted inconvenienced or annoyed with questions or requests. They genuinely offered to help without making me feel like I was burdening them.
The breakfast staff was great--always keeping the area clean and stocked with such wonderfully positive attitudes. In fact, one lady especially was so friendly, it was literally a joy to just chat with her as she maintained the area.
Lastly, there was one occasion in which a housekeeper did not visit our room and when we returned that evening, housekeeping staff was gone for the day. However, I contacted the front desk and your office staff immediately responded, delivered what we needed, and was extremely pleasant while doing so. The gentleman who came to our room to empty the trash and remove old towels/replace new ones even compensated us by adding some extra points to my Marriott rewards account--without any request to do so. It made what could have been a frustrating situation no big...
Read moreDear Mr. Eggen, I’m just one of a sea of faces that slipped through your lobby on my way to another adventure at Epic Systems. I don't know who in the Alberta government decided to send the entourage to the Fairfield Inn, but she/he also deserves my thanks. As soon as we rumbled into your lobby, it was apparent that something was different. I immediately liked the tasteful retro look, the artful combo of complementary colours, and as soon as I turned corner into that long hall on the first floor, I was whisked back in time to the vacations of my youth. Quite an effect. You and the visionaries at Epic have something in common. It's not just a building, it's about crafting an experience, it's about creating a unique feeling.
This warm, familiar atmosphere is also richly reflected in the cheerful and very thoughtful disposition of the staff who, I’m sure you would agree, are the glue that holds the place together. Those wonderful ladies helping with breakfast make it seem like home. I think everyone one of them must be a morning person. And that culinary whiz banger in the kitchen who makes those scrambled eggs deserves a pat on the back. I'm going to try and recreate them for my family when I get home. The people on the front desk make you feel like a VIP; even the simplest request is treated as if it's fallen into Stephen Covey’s “Important” and “Urgent” box. It seems to me that the Inn tries to go beyond the beyond. That certainly what Derek did when he noticed I was struggling with a cable for my Pixel 2 and the Budget rental. With the quick confidence of someone that will continually have a deft touch in whatever he pursues, he knew what I needed and where to get it before I did. He quickly called Quality Cellular, found the product, and then he and one of the ladies in blue offered a set of very user friendly directions. I'll use that charger for years, and it will always remind me of Epic, of Verona, of the Fairfield Inn, of your front desk, of your wonderful breakfasts, and all those charming, cheerful ladies in the very early morning.

Read moreI stayed for 2 nights at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Madison/Verona with my grandson to attend a sale's outlet event nearby. The hotel during the week is mainly filled with business people who attend classes nearby at the Epic Center. The entire staff at the hotel was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we had a nice stay. The room was beautiful and very clean. The rooms are very nicely insulated and quiet. The large bathroom has a large walk in shower (no tubs to step over). The rooms have a microwave, fridge, modern large t.v., coffee maker, new air conditioners and have a modern yet calming decor. The hallways and entire hotel is kept really clean. They serve what they refer to as a continental breakfast, but this was really more like a large buffet. They had muffins, toast, bagels, scrambled eggs, omelets, sausages, cereals, yogurts, fresh fruits, juices, coffees, teas, milk (regular and chocolate) and make your own waffles. Something sure to please both kids and adults. Everything was very fresh and the kitchen staff was very friendly and kept things filled, warm and clean. The WIFI was strong and worked well. They have two common computers and a printer available, and what I really liked was when you logged off, they automatically deleted your personal info. They have a large gym/workout area. They also have a small pool that is really more for younger children as the depth is 3' to 4' and not wide enough to actually swim in. I saw the shuttle buses taking all the business people to the classes as well as later taking them to local eateries. There is not a lot to do in Verona, however, we did find a beautiful park with hiking and bike trails not too far from the hotel. I was looking for a relaxing stay and this was...
