My husband and I enjoy visiting and staying at various Indiana State Parks and our trip and stay at Turkey Run was wonderful! We stayed in a Deluxe Queen Room. It was smaller than expected, but seemed very clean, updated, and had everything we needed for our two night stay. The bathroom was definitely recently renovated too which was a nice touch! The Inn itself is dated (lobby, game room, fire place room, pool) and could definitely use some renovations, however, that did not diminish our time there or the pride the staff takes in the Inn. We enjoyed it the fireplace room/common area, especially on the chilly days when we returned from our hikes! The game room feels nostalgic and like stepping back in time- my husband and I had fun showing our little one all of the different games!

I was very hesitant reading previous reviews about the restaurant attached to the inn, but we loved it and had no complaints. They have the exact same menu that is featured at other Indiana State Park restaurants, but they also offer a salad bar or buffet depending on the days. We ate there every day of our trip. we found the pricing extremely reasonable! The soup and salad bar was very impressive- the food was fresh and the soup was hot and delicious! We also had a hearty breakfast there on the last day of our trip before heading home and it was so good! The waitresses were so kind, patient, and accommodating as we were traveling with our 20 month old. I wish I could remember our waitress’ name, because she was so sweet! It did appear that they were short staffed, but the waitresses were doing everything they could to make sure that every table was getting their needs met.

Obviously, most everyone goes to Turkey Run for outdoor activities and being so close to trailheads staying at the Inn is a definite plus! We filled our time there with some great hikes and when we weren’t hiking, we spent even more time outside. The grounds directly surrounding the Inn are lovely, especially in the early spring. There are two playgrounds, tennis courts, and basketball courts right by the Inn, which we took advantage of when our little one needed to get her energy out.

Turkey Run is not near much else in terms of restaurants, other places to stay, and things to do outside of outdoor adventures. If you’re not from the area, I think it’s important to know that before going. Hiking was the point of our trip so we were very content! We did not leave the park once in the 3 days we were there.

We truly enjoyed our time at Turkey Run Inn! It may not be the most updated of the Indiana State Park Inns, but it is clean, welcoming, and because of its isolated location- so very peaceful and truly feels like getting away. We would love to visit again...

Poor experience start to finish. I ordered a cabin for two nights online on 5/30/19 for 7/7/19-7/9/19, I received confirmation of this via email however it did not specific in the confirmation whether this was a cabin or a room, therefore I assumed I would be getting what I had paid for. Two days prior I called to see if the cabin would include a refrigerator so we could plan appropriately, and was informed that it had booked us for a room in the inn and not the cabin. After speaking with several individuals I ended up being able to get a cabin for one night and a room for the other; but this also meant having to move our stuff over after only one night, which definitely ruined the experience. Upon arrival we were checked in and given the wrong cabin number, which meant hauling everything in yet another trip; we had also ordered wine to the room, but there was no corkscrew provided so again, one more trip back to the front desk. The cabin itself wasn't the greatest, the floors were dirty, the lighting is poor, and in general the place is just a little run down. On the second day we moved into the Inn room, which admittedly is much better kept than the cabin, but still not what I wanted (we preferred more of the privacy hence the reason for the location in the first place). I will say they were able to get us into a room right away, but after coming back later the keys didn't work, so again we had to go back to the front desk... upon checking out we were overcharged by $17 which I didn't realize until I got home. I had called immediately on 7/9/19 and was told I would get a call back the next day as the department who had that authorization was already out for the day; as of 7/13/19 I have yet to be contacted. We also should have received $10 off as well for not needing towels to be washed, but since they made us move rooms they did...

We picked this park as a stopping point enroute to our spring break as a chance to stretch our legs on the hiking trails to break up the drive. We stayed in a cabin and it looks like they are recently remodeled. The price was fair for a clean room in a beautiful location.||The listing didn't list a microwave, but there was one in the room, so may have been added as part of remodeling? We didn't end up making a meal in our room as planned, but would be handy if we had been staying longer to make a few meals versus eating out.||There was a crazy amount of pillows, so most ended up on the floor at bedtime, possibly the reason why one of the decorative pillows had a few strands of hair on it when we arrived? (The only missed item in cleaning as room was otherwise in great shape.) May recommend cutting down the number to a reasonable amount that will actually be of use.||Bed was a little on the firm side for my liking. The neighboring cabin had kids running around when we arrived and could hear them quite clearly through the wall, but luckily wasn't an issue at bedtime as they must have settled in earlier or normal talking levels were sufficiently muffled.||Person checking us in didn't seem interested in us being there. Wasn't rude, but obviously got the transaction done as quickly as possible with as few words as possible. After I got our key card, I realized I didn't know what building was ours and he had already disappeared again to the back and didn't reappear when I returned to the desk, so we went outside and just started checking the buildings for our number.||The park itself was beautiful and we would like to get back. We only had a few hours to explore and every trail was a great view. Could use a few more "you are here" signs on the trails, but we were usually able to figure out where we were on...

Great place to stay if your at Turkey Run State Park. It's a bit rustic, not a modern hotel by any stretch. There are also cabins to stay in, to give you that roughin it feeling. The rooms are decent sized, although most have double beds which feel extra tiny. You'll find maybe a dozen channels, although no kids channels. The bathrooms are very dated, toilets are what you'd find in a public restroom. Rooms are also a bit musty but not terrible. There is a great room for games or hanging out as well as a game room in the basement, some arcade games, claw machines, ping pong and air hockey. The games are pricey so beware. Cell service for AT&T was hit or miss, they do have free public WiFi in the inn. The Narrows restaurant is top notch, food is great and they even do picnic lunches with advance notice. Highly recommend the breakfast buffet. There is an indoor pool, but it's not heated so can be a bit cold. There is also an outdoor pool area that is separate from the inn but inside the park. Don't know the cost. You'll find excellent hiking with several trails to choose from. Bike riding and horseback riding are also options. In the general area you'll also find tubing, canoeing, kayaking, go karts, and zipline tours. Overall a fantastic place to stay, and well worth the trip, even just to make a day of it.

We stayed in the family cabin this year and it was beautifully redone considering this is a state park...only issue was the ANTS!!! EVERYWHERE... In our clothes, luggage, counters, walls, in the drawers- so bring ant traps or spray. Also there are no hooks to hang anything. The Hiking trails are always enjoyable. We were a group of about 30 people who've been coming here the past 30+ years The lodge is also better than before, the rooms have been redone as well. There's an indoor and outdoor pool, playgrounds and picnic areas with shelters to use or rent. Unfortunately the restaurant has become a complete disappointment...still the same staff which we've come to know and like but the food now is just blah- no more carving station, less choices, ...and several items on the menu were not available but the prices are steep. The buffet now is $22.99 per adult!! The kids buffet portion is $15.99... sadly we will probably bring our own stuff next time or eat in Rockville. Overall we enjoyed our time and treasure the memories we make each time. Also no housekeeping services during your stay, you will need to empty your own garbage and request towels etc from the front desk.
