Great spaces, clean rooms, modern appeal. Service however…not great. Only stayed for 1 night - was told by a snarky brunette on 10/12 at the front desk to just wait for a luggage trolley because “a lot of people were using them”, she also couldn’t be bothered to say you’re welcome when I thanked her for charging snacks to my room, and generally seemed annoyed with doing her job. I also called for room service 3 times & never got an answer. Bummer because I was looking forward to sampling the food from Per Diem while I relaxed in my room. Disappointing overall.
Your response to my review: The lack of understanding in your response echoes the experience I had. Of course I understand check-in time is busy, but staff made me feel like a bother for asking for assistance. Also, it’s simply not the guest’s fault you don’t have enough luggage carts for use at check-in every day, that’s the hotel’s responsibility. Are you saying your hotel is poorly equipped to deal with “busy” Saturday check-ins? Since you reviewed the footage, then you saw the only reason I located a luggage cart was because I sat in the lobby to wait & got one from a gentleman who was no longer using his, not because your staff located one to bring to me. Do you also tell A-list guests to fend for themselves and wait until a cart shows up because it’s busy? I doubt that. Don’t you think staff offering to locate and bring me one would have been more hospitable? In regards to room service, if you’re going to offer it as an amenity prior to booking (see the attached photos from YOUR website advertising both a restaurant and room service at YOUR hotel) and remind guests about it at check-in, you should bear at least some of the culpability if it wasn’t offered as advertised. Room service was a big reason I chose your hotel. Are you saying guests should expect their calls for room service (advertised on your hotel’s website) to go ignored on “busy” Saturdays? Should you start including a disclaimer on your website? Does the restaurant need more staff for “busy” weekends? And finally, this was the only platform I used to voice my honest opinion until this morning when Booking.com asked for my opinion, which I provided. So your comment that I voiced my opinion across “several” platforms is a blatant lie and incredibly dismissive. I noticed in other reviews you use that verbiage when someone posts something unfavorable, as though you’re trying to insinuate someone is deliberately being malicious. Just know that is not the case for me, I leave raving reviews when it’s deserved, while also being honest about my experience. I do hope my feedback will help inform staff and management on their guest’s experience and help to provide improved hospitality to...
Read moreWife and I decided to pay a surprise visit to our family in Lancaster. We head over to Lancaster every so often and we have stayed at numerous lodgings, good and bad, but Hotel Rock at Lititz is the best of them all by far.
Checking is at 1600. We arrived Thursday at 1530 ( a bit early) and we met Molly (one of the Rock's amazing staff, more on her later) and she allowed us to check in early.
There's plenty on-site parking, front and rear of the hotel, there are a few EV charging stations too.
The building's façade is new with a modern deco look and feel, There's an on-site Restaurant called Per Diem, while we didn't get an opportunity to dine at the restaurant they do offer outdoor dining with heat.
As soon as we stepped into the lobby we were in love with the decoration, a music industry motif and size. There are speakers surrounding the concierge desk, paintings and pictures of artists an concerts all over, tastefully done. The common are rooms are sanitized and clean. There's a backyard with a fireplace and blankets for cozying up with your favorite person on those romantic evenings.
Step off the elevator and you will find that each floor has a different design with the music industry in mind, it's genius!
Our room was 535, as soon as we stepped inside we noticed how spacious, modern and clean it is. It has a sofa and king size bed, with a huge dresser, plenty of closet space and tremendously gorgeous bathroom with see-through sliding glass doors, soap, conditioner and shampoo dispensers on the wall and full sized towels.
The room is quiet, the bed is very comfortable, a nice soothing light emanating from behind the big smart TV and the bed's headboard, with dark blackout curtains, microwave, coffee maker, fridge, safe and digital thermostat. The Wi-fi here is lightning speed.
Last but never least the staff is outstanding!
Molly is terrific with a radiant sunny disposition that's infectious, even though she's constantly wearing her mask we know she's always smiling. It so happens that she's a friend of my niece ... LOL .. small world.
Josh is helpful and highly knowledgeable about the hotel and surrounding area, this is the person to ask all you need to make one stay comfortable and enjoyable.
Erica, Ashlee and Lexi are amiable, cordial and professional, they accommodated us and made our stay more pleasant.
The only gripe my wife and I had, was that the shower hardly had any water pressure during our entire 4 day stay, it's difficult to remove any soap or shampoo with trickling water, hopefully hotel management can remedy that, otherwise we had a blast at The Rock in Lititz. There's no need for us to look for any other lodging when we head back to Lancaster, all we need is The...
Read moreThe hotel is exceptionally clean. Our king room was clean, spacious and extremely quiet. We didn't hear anything from other rooms or the halls. The front desk staff was lovely, kind, helpful and curtious. The pandemic challenged them concerning room refreshening and towel exchanging, but for a two night stay, we dealt with it and understood this is not normal times. We were in for a wedding, arriving Fri night. There was plenty of room for all of us to hangout and talk, play pool, have a couple of drinks and just relax in the lobby and outside area. It was wonderful! The outside area was great for the children to let off some energy. They had oversized games to play which was wonderful! I was disappointed that they did not have coffee and tea outside of the room for those of us staying. They had a Keurig in the room which I never use because my past experiences staying at other hotels concerning them have never been good. They are always dirty and now with covid, I didn't trust them even more. We were told the restaurant area was run by a different company. My bad review is concering the restaurant. The pizza I ordered Friday night was delicious. One of the bartenders was extremely rude to our group, even to me personally and actually said words to one of our group members because he was listening in on a conversation between a couple of our guys that had NOTHING to do with him or anyone working there. He took a conversation that he didn't fully understand and accosted our person, saying unacceptable things to him, berating him and refusing to serve him because he thought they were talking about his co-worker, which they were not. It had nothing to do with him or his co-worker. The bartender was wrong with his behavior on so many levels and it was unacceptable. His treatment of our party member was unacceptable. The bartender jumped to a conclusion and didn't accept the explanation that was given. So he CHOSE to be nasty to patrons. They have a buffet Mon-Sat of seasoned potatoes, eggs, bacon, toast, a typical continental breakfast minus delicious baked goods mind you, for $13. Anyone in our party who purchased this breakfast said it was over priced and not so good. Sunday breakfast, a Brunch the restaurant has, was a nightmare for us. We were told "this is a very religious area" so no restaurants are open on Sunday to go to. Sat after hearing how bad the buffet was, we headed over to the Lititz Family Cupboard and the breakfast was wonderful. On Sunday, they are closed. Everything was closed. The hotel restaurant didn't start brunch until 10am. No coffee or tea available before this. We decided to head out for home early and stop somewhere outside of the "very religious...
