Recently our family was visiting Washington DC and needed only one night in a hotel, so a clean place on budget was our decision. We picked the hotel for it’s convenient location and free parking and reviews on cleanliness. Neither of them we got a chance to experience because we had to change our hotel at the middle of the night. We got a key on the front desk for our first room which we entered and had to immediately leave for its strong marijuana smell despite the non-smoke facility. We didn’t have any problems changing a room and the front desk understood our reason. The second room that we got was right next door to the first room. The room itself wasn’t that neat and had visible damages on walls, but at least this time we had hangers and toilet paper to use. Naturally, after a long trip we got to our room and started to get ready for going to bed, but before I always check linen in hotels. The linen was extremely dirty on both beds and no one changed it at all for us and maybe for those who stayed before us. I decided to check towels in bathrooms and they weren’t that clean too. I went to the front desk and said that the room is simply unacceptable and received a response “If you want I can do a full refund” with no excuses or any attempt to apologize, so I assume that’s routine for them. I mentioned that we don’t mind staying if the linen will be changed. I got back “We don’t have any other rooms available and there’s no clean linen because I don’t have a key for storage.” The best part for me was that I was looking for a solution, not the employee and offered to take linen from the first room if it was clean and the response was next (direct speech): “I’m a front desk and not a housekeeper if you want you can change it.” While letting me know that he is not a housekeeper, he passed me a key. Obviously, that was a last drop for my patience and we got a refund and a different place to stay for a night. ||||It is the first time I’m writing a negative review in my life and here’s my advice: DO NOT stay in this place. Another advice government inspection must take a look at this place. For some reason I can't upload photos, so please check them on...

Read morewe arrived around 10am and were fortunate enough to be allowed early check-in. desk guy was nice, and was able to speak english. we needed the rest after a grueling red-eye. i was unaware of how far out the place was from most of what we were there to see. this resulted in spending enough money on Lyft to afford a "swankier" place further into the city. my bad. after a brief rest, we met some family and walked around alot. the new target down the block closes at 9, so when we got back to the room around 930pm, we were unable to get supplies for the room, & had to stop at a gas station to get a few things. this is NOT a neighborhood to go walking at night. we were approached a few times, but never threatened, still didnt feel comfortable on the street. the room itself was reasonably clean, & there were no bugs that i could see. beds were firm, and there were mostly feather pillows. 3 per bed. there were multiple "dings" in the place...beginning with the corners, the walls, and at least 2 pretty serious marks on the tub that had broken the enamel off. a fair bit of the caulking was pulled loose from both the tub and the wall. i was dissapointed to see the back of the dressing vanity was raw plywood. didnt expect that. there was a decent armoire for hanging clothes, with storage cubbies on the side. to the left of that was a reasobly large dresser with enough drawer space to handle what we had brought. immediately above the dresser was a huge flatscreen tv that, while impressive, was far to big for the space. after a bit, we figured out the remote. left of the dresser/tv was a desk & chair. under the right side of which was a 3-legged refrigerator with platic top that kept coming off. above that there was a microwave that proved useful, on top of which was a single cup coffee maker that worked nicely for tea. the furniture overall, seemed repurposed from another motel. most of it didnt match, and looked pretty used. the floor was...
