Updates*Worst casino in Iowa. Was a seven star until I lost my room keys after checking in one evening and not realizing it. I got a phone call that someone had been in my room and trashed it. Was banned from property, host did nothing for me. Months later new head of security looked at the footage and realized I had never actually been to my room and was not in the casino or the hotel that whole entire evening. I'm allowed to go back and play at one of the worst slots ever! Can not use the hotel though. Personally don't understand that. Tried calling the hospitality manager, never answered or returned call. Would never recommend this casino to anyone. I have gone back a handful of times just to loose every time. Very dirty place. Won't be long and the place will be bankrupt. Save your money and go to Tama, DSM, or Riverside. Before long Cedar Rapids. Will update this if anything is ever done yet I have a feeling it will be updated with no resolution. Update I received the generic response from Caesars. I did not receive anything else besides what all can see here. I recently visited (Don't know why as I just end up beating myself for knowing better) I lost over $500 within 10 minutes of hitting the slots...now these are $5-$15 slot pulls. I get that a person doesn't win every time. My argument to that is this, how is it 2 years ago I was down $19,000 for the year according to their own calculations. Mine you I didn't always play with my car so I am sure it was more. This year I would say I am down $8,000. That is some pretty poor odds. Yes the year before I was up $10,000 but still down if you do the math. What really burns me is the disrespect they have for players that show nothing but loyalty and go back. After this last visit and the fact the host they assigned to me, Jeff, has never reached out to me is just disgusting. So with that there is my review of the Isle Waterloo. Please enjoy it if you like a casino that has workers who walk around with their noses in the air, to busy playing inside the slots that no one has played for hours, horrible prices on alcohol and just disregards you as a human being let along a players club member. This is coming from a formal Seven Star that was not liked by members of their high and mighty upper management. Update**this is my final update...I have not heard anything from the Isle Waterloo. Now I have a picture of what it looks like trying to get into the Isle after a rain shower. I am going to post some others too just to let you know what this is the worst casino in Iowa. With the upkeep or lack of upkeep you can tell that they are obviously having finicial difficulties. It wouldn't surprise me when MGM in Cedar Rapids opens and the Isle goes belly up! Maybe they should realize that customers do keep the lights on. Good luck to all you as for me I am going to where you can win some money in a clean casino Prairie...
Read moreDisappointing that a company like the isle uses its status to block a persons review because its the truth.
I wonder how many guests love getting $5 or $10 in free play and realize that the free play is a worthwhile joke to a company that reels in money then does nothing to promote fair game play to its customer base. Only way to enjoy playing any free play you get is if you play the lowest denominator bet. They can't have you win on anything than 30 cent or 50 cents.
And forget about coming to play and enjoy yourselves for hours. You have to spend money to play while you get 5 cents here or maybe a $1 there if your lucky. That winning board with faces that win hand pays, just ask them how many thousands they have put in before they get a lucky break. That 70/80/90 percent turn over isn't the truth.
I don't want some empty call telling me how they are sorry for my experience when its the same as every other person who walks thru that door. The hosts love to give away free play to the highest gamblers because you basically are paying for their salary and vacation pay while you wait for that glorious pay out that will never happen.
Foodwise
The Simply Yummy bakery is a knock off because the cookies and pastries they have are the same. Go ahead and ask how many days or weeks they've been in there because I've walked by and seen the same cookies in the same position with no protection other than the case to truly keep in the freshness.
You would have better luck going to Dunkin Donuts for better baked goods.
The Brew Brothers, put it simply don't expect the same employees each week as they have a ridiculous turn over and the food quality differs on the employees. Same for the housekeepers because they don't want to clean up the mess of locals who come to party and trash rooms.
You can play all the new flashy games but you will never win on them. The old machines are the only true way to win. Anything 2000 or newer is just a program premade to rip you off, hence why the Isle is doing away with so many old games. You cant rig them so easily.
Those machines that they put near the entrance with a near jackpot win, if you win any bonus on it they take it out of the jackpot payout which reduces it so it takes even longer to get close to it. Take a picture of the score and come back a month later to see.
Of course Fireball pays out look at how many people sit around it playing it nonstop you basically win what they...
Read moreI'm very disappointed with this casino and waited quite awhile before posting as to be fair. I'm a Platinum player and there are some perks to your advantage for this. My attitude towards going here has diminished however due to the gaming floor! I used to go frequently, but WEEK AFTER WEEK, MONTH AFTER MONTH FAIL TO SEE MYSELF OR ANYONE I KNOW. .. WIN ANYTHING!! They are very blatant about the few winners that they do LET win. Mood and morale is at an all time low, and many people leave angry. Prizes won seem to always be allocated to the same people as you will hear the same names being called over and over (as if the rest of other people's lost monies isn't sufficient to be recognized as winners)! The arrogance to think that they can continue to take hard earned monies from people and continue with the same strategies is appalling to most who used to love to game here! And trust me, I know... gambling is a RISK, but to be on the floor and EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME THING, is something that needs to be addressed and resolved. It seems no matter how much you spend, you walk out a LOSER for most. (Trust me, I put it to the test). Many people have stated they planned to call the GAMING COMMISSION to report it, but it is not known whether they've followed through. I for one have decided that if I'm not good enough to win there, then its smartest to spend my money somewhere else. The parking lot and floor is emptier and emptier, so other people may be coming to the same realization. As far as goods and services, the casino employees have taken involuntary cutbacks so their morale is down, yet they for the most part try to make your stay and experience a pleasant one. The food is good, but costly if you don't have perks to lessen the cost(which by the way, even for high tier players, meal amounts have been reduced also). Hotel rooms are clean on occasion- judging by comments made by overnight guests. And they do have a relaxing pool, sauna, and workout room for those who choose to stay. (That's how they received the rating that was given). Other than that, host services and reservations are fairly simple to make and they are courteous. My rating and suggestion would be to go and have fun in the pool, eat, and get a good nights rest, if you need a quick getaway....BUT STAY OFF THE GAMING FLOOR!!! ... unless you don't care about throwing your...
