Felt like the pea in the mattress...||Couldn't find a comfy place to curl up while listening to the tractor bucket loader located just behind our bedroom in our RV trailer. Closed the windows, put the air conditioner on, etc., etc., We just needed some much needed REST. We've had crisis after crisis occurring at home and for 3 or 4 months we've dreamed about spending a couple of nights not to far away to get the R & R we depended on. However, not the case. Every time the tractor bucket loader which started at 8:00 am sharp and ended at 4pm, pulled in to haul up the next layer of dirt found it necessary to hit the cement 3 times before scurrying over to the drop off point and then back again. I could understand a few hours, but those hours didn't stop there, not until 3 days passed. Three long, all day long, flying sand and scrapping and banging metal to cement I couldn't even count the trips and sand flying around. We had paid when we checked in, full price, just like any other RV, except they didn't have the tractor bucket loader behind their bedroom! I tried to explain to the "host" at KOA the problem and asked if they could possibly give us a few other days in exchange for what we had been putting up with. He gave me a piece of paper with the number for the "mgr", that of course wasn't around and wouldn't be for a few days. I called on the day he told me he might be in, but the "mgr" was not understanding or helpful at all. He told me they can't control anything. I wonder if they didn't see the work that was being done and told us to park right where the staging was located; across from the office. They knew just where they put us and could see and hear the constant noise. Don't ever waste your time in this express KOA, no pool, no store, nothing to keep you from going to many other destinations in the area. We...
Read moreThis is an emmaculately clean but very tightly spaced KOA. If you have larger rigs, you will have to ask others to move their cars or trucks so you can pull out. The reason for one star is that Mark and Debbie are extremely rude. They made our 10 day stay there very uncomfortable. We moved our vehicle into an open spot, so our neighbor could leave, and my wife was practically yelled at to move it by Mark. Not please or anything polite but just rudeness. This is NOT a family friendly park in that they will not allow any families over 6. Other KOA's make exceptions all the time for us but they just about didn't register us when I inquired about our kids staying with us. Covid restrictions changed and our kids couldn't stay at a families house. The office is small and has a sign that says 1 person at a time, but you cannot see in from outside. While I was in the office, Mark yelled at someone that walked in and Debbie stormed out. The other couple that worked there were just the opposite, very nice to be around. I think that explains the different reviews here, different people. If I have any choice at all, I will never...
Read moreNice hosts, clean campgrounds, and close to the beach. Seals in the ocean, Phil’s Fish Market nearby (yummy linguine and clams!). But, as with many beachy camps, the sites are crammed close together. I kept tripping over my neighbor’s pinwheels and solar lights (he put them along the hookups side of my rig, and between his toys and the bushes, I had to duck under my slide-out to get hoses hooked up). Another neighbor had a bunch of yapping dogs. Nice place, nice people, but hardly any space or privacy. I’m sure the property is prime real estate, so KOA uses every ounce of it to get it as many rigs as possible. Glad we only stayed one night. (Host gave us a bike lock in addition to ours, said thieves were cutting people’s cable locks and stealing bikes. Not comforting, but they were honest about it and helpful). Also, I’ve been to worse sites, so this review is relative to those places and the really nice campgrounds I’ve visited with larger pads and privacy hedges. Maybe I’m too picky??? We did enjoy the restaurant, the beach, some walks, and some of the...
