The room cost 70 something dollars. The first room they gave me the door didnât shut (room 248) and it smelled like pool ass and mildew. Why does everything smell here? The door to the first room didnât shut in a manner where it wasnât framed properly so you could see the hallway while the door was closed and people can see inside your room. And the room was super not updated think 70s fixtures. it seems like at some point they rented carpet cleaning equipment from the grocery store and mold smell set into the carpets because of them not hiring a professional company with quality equipment that sucks the water back up properly. The second room they gave me smells like fruit roll ups so theyâve treated the carpet with something to try to mask the smell. Head aches from the smell , hurray. Obviously, theyâre trying to cover up the smell in the second room. Too bad the windows donât open at all. And the fan of the bathroom doesnât work so itâs not like I can turn the fan on and then it will be pulling air either from the hallway which smells worse, or through the air conditioner, which means it would be coming from outside, which would be a win.
In hindsight, they need to pull up all the carpets in this place! Iâm not sure how Iâm gonna be affected. Iâm I hope Iâm not one of those people.
But at least this room has an updated bathroom although the fan in the ceiling doesnât work at all âŚâŚ so that I can try to air it out. (Room number 247)
You canât open the windows. Sheets are paper thin so I asked for some extra ones to try to make the bedding nicer and he said he only had one left and itâs got so many cigarette burns all over it. Not sure why itâs not in the trash. The walls have drip marks on them from the bathroom fan not having been working for so long. . mirror definitely needs to be cleaned, and tile floor grout is as dirty as an ashtrayđ using dirty water to clean the floor makes grout dirtier, or mabye they use swiffer wet jets. Those pads also make things dirtier. For reference I own and manage a residential and commercial...
Read moreWe booked a room at this particular Days Inn from the road, weary from a cross country drive from Pennsylvania to Oregon. The young man working the front desk was very kind and helpful though when we reached our room I was disappointed. The rate was about $60 plus a $10 pet fee but we ended up paying about $80 after taxes and fees. $80 for a ten hour stay or so seemed steep. Additionally, our room was on the ground floor at the end of the hall (I should have asked for a second floor room) right by a sort of cleaning/utility space. This janitorial space was a mess and there were unbroken down boxes and taped over doors in the lobby. All the trash cans were overflowing with garage and my partner swears he saw rodent waste outside around the building. There were bugs on the bathroom floor (I have pictures), the AC didn't work well, the carpet was filthy and the blanket was torn, threadbare and stinky. The room was nonsmoking but the hall and our room stank of stale smoke and we discovered our smoke detector was covered with a shower cap from previous smoking guests. We didn't feel unsafe and it was quiet but for $80 I'd suggest paying more and finding a different spot for...
Read moreThis is the nastiest hotel Iâve ever seen. Walking in, the grounds are literally covered in trash, wet diapers etc. The facility itself looks like a crackhouse. The room doors arenât even painted, just native metal. The room smelled horrendous, like mold candles had been burning for hours. The lock to the room didnât work. The TV wasnât hooked up to cable or an antenna. The telephone didnât work. The mattresses were so cheap and light they literally slid off the bed when I tried to put my bag on the bed. We were in a non smoking room and there were columns of smoke heading up the stairwell right outside our room. The heater didnât work. Non of the outside doors locked. Actually, they didnât have locking mechanisms on them and they were permanently in the open position. We immediately asked for a refund, which was given without the attendant even asking a question, and then drove several miles to an exponentially nicer hotel for the exact same price. I really canât believe that places like this exist in America. I hope the health department reads this review and shuts...
