We were in from Texas, with a flight home in 6 days, passport expired so our ship left w/o us. Ya, we had a problem on. Everything for the next 6 days had been pre-paid, so it wasn’t like we had a huge budget to cover the cost of two for a week in a town in a state neither of us knew at all. After spending night one in a Hilton at over $250. I decided to go Boho and instructed my daughter to find us a place. She’s all, “Okay mom, there the famous old hotel on Palm Beach, and they will give us a break on a double room! We can stay all 4 nights for $1500! That’s like a night for free!” Ya, sure. Let’s go check in, millennial. So, I again said that I wanted a cute cottage LESS EXPENSIVE MOTEL than The Dang Breakers! We had a dodgy rental car with the check engine light ...... ANYWAY, LONG STORY SHORT: We called the El Patio after driving by it. I thought it was cute. The manager called us back, and we agreed to meet that afternoon. So we’d really called all 4 or 5 of the similar bungalow-type motels we’d passed on the way to the beach from the airport car place, and El Patio was the only one who called and COULD meet us, and DID have a room for two. We got there, and talked and told the manager our predicament, and were then shown the sweetest, comfiest, cutest cottage....and we then “made a deal” for the great space at a great price. El Patio treated us well, they gave us a clean, air-conditioned, cozy but spacious bungalow we called home for the next 4 days n’ nights. We had a wonderful time, and felt safe (given the rather questionable neighborhood corner hangouts). We were able to grocery shop nearby, and filled the fridge and had everything we needed for the rest of our wonderful stay in west and palm beach. It was a great base to go from, and a happy place to return to after every interesting and fun filled day. The beach and downtown were near, and the manager clued us in to local highlights. We found west palm beach and palm beach to be welcoming, both full of great places to eat, to shop, and to learn. We thank El Patio and commend the manager for the care and thoughtfulness we were shown throughout our stay. I’d like to keep the place a secret, but for those among you who’ve got the spirit in you, El Patio Motel is quite the Boho crib, a nice space to call your own while away from home. Thank you, D.E.B. and host. We can’t wait to return next summer, and winter. Best...
Read moreThe customer service was amazing friendly lady at the front front desk, but what I didn't like is that the rooms smelled like cigarettes, the guests needs to be warned before getting the room, I have allergies and could not breathe the cigarettes smell gave me a headache and my clothes smelled like cigarettes, I ask for another room the front desk say they're all cigarettes rooms, no non smoking I spend $95 for the room and I was unable to breathe. Other then the cigarette smell the room looked like a crime scene, something that looks like blood on the headboard if the bed, a huge hand printed on the wall, the toilet was not good to look at, I've seen public toilet that looked better. What did I expect it's a motel, but I was angry at myself for paying $95 for this room. I couldn't sleep on the bed the pillow look dirty. The experience was horrible for me and as a non smoker all my blankets and outfits smell, after going to the ceremony I came to west palm beach for people kept sniffling covering their nose because I smelled like cigarettes. I really wish they would tell their guests but they don't it's like a trap and it's...
Read moreI paid for one week $350 with my family. I have two toddlers and when they walked on the carpet barefoot their feet became tar black. We slept on torn sheets. There was a $25 deposit. During checkout ONE towel was stained and she refused to give us our deposit. We then went and bought and towel and explained to her my husband had just lost his job and all the money we had was getting to a new state. That the $25 would feed our 4 year old child and 2 year old child. She told us it didn't work like that and we could wait on her boss. I assured her that if he or she had any compassion they wouldn't let our children go hungry over a towel that could be replaced. She stated he didn't have any children and I politely said I know he have nieces and nephews I'm sure he wouldn't want anyone treating them like that. Idk if it is because of the color of our skin or they are people who worship the dollar bill. There isn't even a sign stating their will be a deposit of $25 for weekly rooms. Could be a all...
