Jerk Shack — Restaurant in West Palm Beach

Been driving by this place for over a month… but it was calling my name. I like the unexpected & I know the best food comes from the place you least expect! The jerk shack didn’t disappoint- jose greeted as soon as we entered. Menu is very limited but he suggested the jerk chicken & we agreed to what he offered. Within a short amount of time my friends & I received 3 lunch specials of jerk chicken with rice & peas plus a warmed slaw (peas, cabbage, & onions) I asked for brown gravy for my rice & peas & it was so yummy!!! I'm Jamaican and VERY picky about what Jamaican food I eat outside, and I have always been disappointed, so I just stick to patties. But this place shocked me to my core,I had a combination plate of curry chicken and jerk pork, with rice and pigeon peas, cabbage, and a side of Mac and cheese. Everything was just good. I was given scotch bonnet hot sauce for my food while I waited for the Mac and cheese, which was the only thing that brought my review down to 4 stars, ok flavor and the set look of it worried me, maybe if it was fully hot and cheese on top melted more 5 stars. Glad I checked the place out. It’s a little hard to park, but there is a large retail parking lot nearby that won’t notice you borrowing a spot. Got jerk chicken, which was perfectly cooked. I’m used to jerk being saucier/spicier but it was very good. I don’t know enough to judge “authenticity.” I ordered a “large” and wished there was a little more of the chicken.
