My wife and I called the hotel directly to book a room. We needed a handicap accessible room with a roll-in shower. The lady we talked to booked the room for us. We asked if that room had a sofa bed and kitchenette. The lady told us yes. The night before we arrived, we called back and talked with Dillon. We asked him to make sure if there was a sofa bed and kitchenette. He told us yes on both. When we arrived and checked in, we went to our room. There was no kitchenette and no sofa bed. We went back to the front desk and asked Dillon about the sofa bed and kitchenette. He told us that the kitchenettes are only in the king suites. He also told us that what they consider king suites there at the hotel is different then what they show on the website. We as customers are suppose to know that how? He also said there was a red sofa in our room that was assigned to us. He had a new employee go and check. The employee came back and said there was no sofa in there. Dillon went to see about another room. He was willing to give us a 2 queen bed handicap accessible room. The problem with that is my wife's electric wheelchair will not be able to move around that room. That is why we get a king bed room. Dillon kept trying to help other quest that was coming in instead of going ahead to help us at the moment. He ended up telling us to leave the hotel that he did not want to help us anymore. So, we had to find a room somewhere else at the last minute. Its not easy finding a handicap accessible roll-in shower room. We ended up finding a room at the Tru by Hilton Wichita Northeast. They were so helpful getting the room we needed. The room at the Tru by Hilton was great. We normally stay at the Candlewoods Suites but they were booked when we went to make our reservation. As far as Courtyard by Marriot Wichita East, I WILL NEVER try and stay there again. I will NOT EVEN try to stay at any Marriot chain again. My brother-in-law went to stay there as well. He called and booked his room there and got his confirmation number. Dillon booked the room. When he got to the hotel, Dillon said that he could not find his reservation even with the confirmation number. Dillon needs some better training or different position there at the hotel, because what I have experienced he doesn't know what he is doing and is just telling things to people that are not true.

Read moreI booked my room online and then called the hotel to verify my reservation. I then requested a corner room at the end of the hall. I do this every time I travel. Sometimes my request gets filled and sometimes it doesn't. No big deal.
So I go to check in and since I reserved on the Marriott website I had already paid for the room. They put a hold on my card anyway and didn't mention it to me at all. They didn't even ask for my ID to verify that I was who I sad I was.
As I walk towards the elevator to head to my room I am assaulted by the overwhelming smell of chlorine coming from the pool. A gentleman sitting nearby notices my reaction and says "you think it's bad out here you should smell it in there. I don't know how my boys are still swimming but I couldn't sit in there." I tell him "at least you know it's clean right?"
Anyway, back to my stay. I got room 203. Its not a corner room, that would have been room 201, but it's towards the end of the hallway. No big deal right? Wrong, I must have gotten placed next to a large family or something cause the noise coming from the hallway was super loud in my room. There was no noise buffering at all!
I walk in my room and right away I notice how tiny it is. The layout is odd and there's almost no room to walk between the dresser and the bed. The room had a king bed and a pull out sofa bed. But there was just too much furniture for the room.
Let's check out the bathroom shall We? First noticeable thing is the huge spider web crack in the sink. But what bothered me the most was the tub that was grayish on the bottom. Then I saw what I thought was a crack in the tub as well but nopr, it washed away as I turned on the shower... I put a towel in the tub to stand on while I showered.
Flash forward to the overnight hours and I can hear every time the individual in the room above me uses the restroom.
I set my alarm for 745 cause I wanted to sleep in a bit. Know what time I woke up? 703. Why? Cause the person above me woke up at 7am, I heard their alarm. I then laid in bed and listened to them walk back and forth several times before they turned on the shower for about 15 minutes. Then they walked back and forth a few more times and slammed the door on their way out. Again, no noise control at all!
About the only good thing about this visit was the front desk staff. They were friendly and...
Read moreRead moreSecond time at this hotel. Came to visit our Daughter. Booked a suite as a treat to my wife, we were there 4 nights, and disappointed in many ways. First off, look at the suite furniture. Looks quirky, it is. Looks old, it is, think 1960s era old.. Looks uncomfortable, you guessed it, impossible to sit on the goofy round couch and watch tv, zero back support. Morning one, shower, plugged 90% with hair, water up 4 inches on leg. OK, understandable, but not worth maintenance coming in the room. The kicker of our disappointment, we happened to arrive when they were re-roofing the place. We were on top floor, at the end where all the action was at. Hammering from 7:15 am to 8pm, seriously. A ladder next to our bedroom window and balcony, workers singing and yelling going up and down ladder. I opened my bedroom window curtain at 7:15am and right in front of me in my 3rd floor suite, a man on a ladder singing and waved to me. Wife not happy, but again, we were off and out all day with our daughter. I understand maintenance, but they had like 3 guys, hammering all day and the 4 days we were there, very little done. They need a crew of 20 guys, get it done in 2 days, and not book guests on the top floor. Simply is greed at the expense of customer unhappiness, really, I can't imagine one guest on top floor thinking it was ok. I guess we could have complained, possibly moved, we all know what a pain that is. Upon checkout Sunday morning, brought all this up to the smiling lady at the front desk, kinda thinking I was / should have maybe been offered a free night, maybe partial refund on my $500 bill, nope. Have a good day. Sure leaves a sour taste in ones pocket book with overall experience, and certainly will look at other places for...
