We should have read the reviews before we stayed here. I am sure at one time this was a nice place, but keeping it nice is about doing the maintenance, keeping it clean and making the repairs necessary to not let it run down. The lady at check-in was very nice but as we made our way to our room, we started noticing numerous issues that would be easy to fix. How about putting the lids on the trash cans so as not to attract pests and rodents? When the metal entrance door handle breaks off, buy a new one and replace it properly not install a piece of wood that is unsafe and has no grip to open the door. When we entered the room, it was fairly clean, but a lot of the fixtures were rusted and broken. The housing of the microwave was rusted, the shower curtain brackets were corroded and the chrome had peeled off both of them. The tall corner lamp was rusted and did not work. Both windows in the room were cracked. There was black mold on the bathroom wall where water had run down the outer bathtub wall. They need corner brackets and the correct chalking in the shower to prevent this issue. When you were in the shower you could feel the whole tub move so there are some serious issues there. The shower head was very old and rusted and when it was turned on some of the jets sprayed sideways and sprayed water out on the floor. The kitchen sink faucet was dripping from the handle and a continuous flow of water ran into the sink. The safety latch on the door was bent so it was really of no use. Luckily the deadbolt still worked. The mirror was missing almost all the mirror coating across the whole bottom. The chrome on the bathroom light was severely rusted and pitted. The recliner chair did not latch so it stayed up the whole time. The mattress was worn out and provided a very uncomfortable night's sleep. The worst part was the morning of checkout we were packing to leave and a cockroach ran across the bathroom floor. At checkout, I reported the black mold and the cockroach to the man and woman at the desk. The man said I guess we will have to have them spray again, so that means this is not the first report of the issue. No apology, no offer to make a correction to the charge price, he just walked away like I wasn’t there. I think Choice Hotels should send someone to inspect this motel because their name is on it. It does not represent the quality that is usually behind their name. We were told the rooms were all full but we only saw about a dozen cars there. We saw numerous people who looked like they lived there all the time. I would not recommend this...
Read moreI had a very positive experience for my first stay here, most of the employees are nice except some have personal issues with dogs which I can understand-- I assume it might have been a problem with previous guests or unruly animals because while I was here, a large random pitbull was walking around the 1st floor while I was coming in one afternoon. I reported it & was told the owner stayed a couple floors above! Wow! That was really the only concerning incident that happened. NEGATIVE: The keycards have a literal 10% chance of successfully working--except for the main entrances. Getting into your own door is going to take COUNTLESS swipes before you get the green light to go into your room. It may have been because mine was the only one with a sign on the door that said you had to turn it a certain way but other guests reported the same issue. I wish they would fix it instead of putting a "broken" sign. That was the absolute worst part of my stay was standing at my door for at least 3 minutes EACH & EVERY time I needed to enter or exit my room, which would cause issues if my dogs were next to me waiting to get in as well (from other guests or employees scared of dogs) just a huge security issue in general. The hallways have an odd odor at times but they try hard to sanitize or use carpet powders. The vending machines could have better service but that is a third party. I would like to mention I left my purse here as I checked out & when I returned, everything was untouched and returned to me. My stay was rather long but I appreciate a good portion of the service I received here and would recommend, especially for the price. The kitchen is amazing! Dishwasher, full size fridge, pots, pans, strainer, silverware all included which is more than what I've seen at more expensive hotels so that is a huge plus! Thank...
