We had our wedding (9-21-2024)at The Williams Inn, and it was an absolutely beautiful experience overall. The venue itself was stunning, and we loved the flow of having our ceremony out back, cocktail hour on the patio, and the reception inside. It provided a gorgeous transition between different environments and created a truly memorable atmosphere.
The food was incredible! Our guests raved about it, and there was certainly no shortage – everyone was well-fed, and the next morning’s brunch was equally delicious. The staff went above and beyond, setting aside appetizers for us during the cocktail hour to make sure we didn’t miss out while mingling. They even boxed up leftovers from our meal, which was a thoughtful touch.
Gary and his team did a fantastic job setting up the ceremony chairs, tables, and all the necessary arrangements. The venue was always clean, well-organized, and looked beautiful. We also appreciated that our guests could explore Williamstown and had the option to stay right at the venue, which made everything so convenient. Our King Suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable—perfect for getting ready. The only thing I would have changed was having a bigger fridge given we were there for four days.
The process leading up to the wedding was generally smooth, but there were a couple of bumps along the way. We booked the venue in December 2022, and when we reached out a few months later, we discovered that our original wedding coordinator no longer worked at the inn. We hadn’t been informed about the change, which was a bit stressful. Additionally, the back-and-forth communication could have been more streamlined. Having a centralized planning platform rather than relying on emails would have been helpful to keep track of all details and questions.
One highlight was the tasting with Chef Ron – it was a fantastic experience! He was wonderful to work with and served beautifully plated, delicious dishes, which made choosing our wedding menu easy.
The room block process could have been handled in a better manner. On the morning of the wedding, the general manager sent our wedding coordinator to address a room block issue with me as I was about to put on my dress. This could have been handled at a different time, and it took away from the special moment.
Despite these small challenges, our experience at The Williams Inn was wonderful overall. The venue was beautiful, the food was amazing, and the staff worked hard to make our wedding day special. We would highly recommend The Williams Inn as a...
Read moreWe were looking to visit Williams and Amherst colleges on our visit and heard rave reviews about this inn and after seeing the photos online, we were sold. When we checked in, we were very perturbed as we showed up 4:30pm only to told that our room wasn't ready despite the fact that check in time was 3pm. The lady informed us they had a full house the night before, and we didn't appreciate her attitude. On top of that, we seen at least 3 other parties who showed up after us and were promptly checked into their rooms. It was only after 20 mins of waiting in the lobby that I asked a gentleman behind the counter, and he checked us in. That gentleman was very nice and attentive. The room itself was contemporary and immaculate and zero complaints at all about it as we loved the vibe. I also loved how they have two EV charging stations on the lot free of use. Now my only other gripe is the Barn. After checking into the hotel and having a chance to walk around the property, we stopped by the Barn and asked to see the menu. The hostess obliged and after perusing the menu, we decided to try and get a reservation. The lady said all full for the evening. We asked then what about the following night...still same response. An hour later, I decided to go on Yelp and I know there is a reservation option on Yelp so I gave it a shot and was about to have the option of booking that same evening and also the following night. When we walked up with our confirmed reservation via online, the hostess checked us in aokay. Having said that, I did not appreciate whatever shenanigan was going on. Reading other people's reviews, it doesn't appear this is the only time it had happened. If they could address these concerns, then definitely sky's the limit for Williams Inn. Overall, we did enjoy the stay, but would find the...
Read moreOHH MY What a Mess!!!
we stayed there last week to see a play. We were a bit shocked but thought to leave it alone. Then my Aunt visited this weekend to see a play as well. She complained of the same things. this is the bottom line: structure is very nice and clean-this is the only positive. Period. front desk staff is beyond not helpful...aren't they supposed to be your source of information? Just didn't care because the hotel is understaffed They do not serve Breakfast or Lunch. FOR DINNER? they served dinner! -Burgers and fries!- Not kidding. $300 a night and dinner was burgers and fries. there are zero amenities, none- yet the hotel costs $300-$400 a night management not helpful-at all- I think that they were just hidding because they KNEW that the place is a mess. 7.just a big waste of money...a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY (THERE ARE OTHER HOTELS IN THE AREA, BE SURE TO DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BOOK YOUR ROOM) COMPLETE RIPOFF, COMPLETE It just didn't seem like they cared
BOTTOM LINE:-this place needs to be under new management, because who ever is running this place gave up long ago.
I would clear the whole staff out and just ship new ones in from elsewhere pay them REALLY well so that guests don't end up on google writing 2 star reviews.
My wife called it "A Hot Expensive Mess" hotel costs $300-$400 a night- 5 star prices, 2 star experience
If you are coming to the Berkshires to have a nice time...DO NOT stay here. This place will kill your experience, just kill it. Do your research BEFORE you come.
If you want a nice hotel there are others within a 45min drive in the Berkshires.
I don't plan on ever returning. ...
