The rooms were spacious and fairly clean but that's where the pros end.
We drove 6+hrs to this resort in the middle of March. The website listed a large amount of amenities and things to do at the resort including a spa and hot spring that we were the most excited for but also things like a river walk, zip lines, a ride that shoots you in the air, gift shop, workout room, mini golf, a tavern, normal golf, arcade, indoor waterpark. It said "hundreds of acres and hundreds of aWaterpark.
Let me tell you how big of a let down it was that out of all of those things only the indoor water park(heavily for kids and very run down) and arcade were available. Both of which were big let downs as the Waterpark was for kids and the lazy river was extremely short/small and the arcade was the biggest rip off. Not only did the games cost a fortune each (20$ for 80 "splashes" and each game cost 8-12splashes and to hell if both of you want to play a game together that'll be 20+splashes) but at least a quarter of them took our splashes and then didn't work. The towels for the water park, which you were only allowed , were more like hand towels in size. And those are the amenities that actually WERE open.
The spa? Apparently been closed since January and the website not only didn't state this but also was ADVERTISING the spa for spring break. Wtf?
The hot spring? Also closed though the first day we arrived it was technically open for a few hrs but it literally had GARBAGE not only all around the hot spring but IN the hot spring. There were bags of chips stuck in the filters. No towels available either just a hot rusting mess.
Work out area? Closed for renovations.
Gift shop? Just never opened.
Zip lines? Not a single staff there.
Same with the ride that shoots you in the air.
The river walk? More like a stroll around the resort and by that I mean just around the buildings. We never got anywhere close to the river and most of the view was blocked.
Mini golf? Only open seasonal.
Same with the tavern and normal golf.
Basically there was NOTHING to do at this "resort" besides eat at the two "restaurants" there which had an incredibly short menu which was...gross? I ordered the burger and fries and I was given a frozen patty that was heated up, no seasonings and a too small for the patty slice of cheese slapped ontop with a tiny basket of crinkle cut fries and some side lettuce that had wilted. My partners meal was similarly sad. The price for that burger? Over 20$.
We heard other guests grumbling about the resort too. Nothing was open or available.
We had to leave the resort to go to the local town and that was the only saving grace of the whole trip. The town was weird and borderline rundown but atleast the shops and food were cute and delicious. The food on the main street was far above and beyond the resorts and at half the price.
This isn't even mentioning that our "presidential suite" which was adequately large had either mice/rats or squirls chewing and scratching IN THE VENTS. The microwave also didnt work. We then saw rat traps all around the outside of the building. The grounds themselves looked incredibly unkempt and there was trash all over the place, broken lights and the like, broken trees over the boat dock steps. Just a mess. The whole place was working a skeleton crew. The resort itself felt like it was slowly dying and was well past its heyday.
We left a day early (we were only going to be there two days) as there was nothing to do and the trains kept waking us up throughout the night.
What a nightmare.
After such a nice website and videos this place was blatantly false advertised and we will be disputing the charge with our credit card company for the night we didn't stay.
Edit/update: we tried to contact them several times. They never responded. Never tried to make it right. All while more bad reviews from the same time/trip have been popping up. What a scam. They took our money and we wasted 12+hrs of driving. Highly recommend you don't give them a...
Read more1st time staying here after many visits to the dells over the years. We have frequented Kalahari and the wilderness which are more expensive but also are worth the extra $. Overall our stay was ok. We visited with friends that made it fun. Just like everywhere in the dells it was expensive and overpriced for what you get. I know technically we visited in the "off" season but is spring break really the "off" season? Very disappointed to find lacking staff that were uninformed & were told no housekeeping during the visit. We made our reservation by calling the phone number on their website and booking 2 rooms. We got 2 different types of rooms cuz I really wanted a balcony.Come to find out that my friend's room also had a balcony and was cheaper with basically the same amenities but our room was bigger and it was nice. We requested the rooms to be as close as possible to eachother and instead we got rooms that couldn't have been further apart... the complete opposite sides of the resort and one room on the top floor while ours on the 1st floor. The hike to eachothers rooms was exhausting and the place is like a maze. A big disappointment was that the ONLY hot tub in the indoor water park was broken, completely drained. A huge bummer for parents who want to relax while the kids play. It would have been nice to be informed at the time of booking. Also would have been nice if they would have informed us of the outdoor hottub that was kind of hidden. We found it by asking multiple staff and getting different answers from each one. The staff is an issue that really irritates me, they are uniformed on resort info and so are not a big help if u stop them to ask a question like where is the nearest working ice machine (since the one on our floor was missing and the one on the 2nd floor above us was broken we had to go down to the end of our hall and up to the 3rd floor every time to get ice). Most staff act annoyed & inconvenienced that they have to interact with you if they even acknowledged your presence. The restaurant we had breakfast and dinner at in the resort was overpriced for meh food & barely saw our "servers" more than twice. The indoor waterpark was smaller than other resorts but had everything you would want (besides a working hot tob). Different types of water slides and a lazy river/wave pool combo, &kiddie area. I liked the size of my room and the furnishings but the fridge was missing pieces & had broken shelves. Also there was no conditioner in the shower, only body wash and shampoo or maybe a 2in 1 combo but the dispenser wasn't labeled so hopefully i used the correct ones on the correct parts. I just think that for the price ($750 for 2 nights in the "off" season aka spring break season) they could have things up and running better with more friendly and knowledgeable staff. Also a month after booking the room i got an email offering 20% off a 2 night stay during spring break. But since i had already booked my spring break stay i could not get the deal. Kinda uncool. Overall the stay was ok but Next time i go to the dells I'll probly try a...

The resort is wonderful overall, with sprawling grounds and an almost remote feel. It’s quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of the tourism area and along the Wisconsin River. There is a sizable private water park with a lazy river, multiple water slides, and a large splash structure. The hotel’s overall decor celebrates the Wisconsin Dells and features prints by photographer H.H. Bennett, who made The Dells famous and documented much of its natural beauty.
We were lucky enough to book a golf villa. While slightly dated, ours had two queen beds, a pull-out sofa bed, a small wall-mounted television (with DVD player), a large gas fireplace, and include a full kitchen with a four-seat breakfast nook. This made it easy to wake up and make breakfast for ourselves in the room each day.
The reason the in-room kitchen’s a good thing is that the on-site restaurants we visited were quite overpriced for what they offer. The breakfast buffet was $22 per person (with coupon) and truly only amounted to what you would receive for free on a nice continental breakfast setup. Eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, small assortment of pastries. The grab-and-go location doesn’t seem to put prices on or near any of their offerings. For a small “protein bowl”, a snack wrap, a peanut butter bar, and two bottled Starbucks coffees, the charge was $36. Only after questioning the final charge did the cashier realize she had made an error, changed an item, and lowered the bill down to $30. This was still unexpectedly high… and without an itemized receipt or price sticker to see what we had been charged, there was no way to double check what we had been charged for. A second visit to the grab-and-go location for two Luncheables, two bottled sodas, and a single beef jerky ended up costing $23. Again, no itemized receipt to check what we were actually charged for.
Housekeeping was not offered during our visit, and we had to stop at the Front Desk to request additional toilet paper and bath towels. For a five-night stay, we would have expected a mid-stay service at the very least. For the record, we’re quite organized and we’re able to keep our room reasonably clean, but fresh towels and a check of the toilet paper level would have been expected based on the nightly rate paid.
The Front Desk team was pleasant and assistive, but was more “reactive” than “proactive”. When we visited them for toilet paper and towels, they were happy to assist. We also inquired about whether or not there had been any additional charges to our room and they were happy to check for us.
Overall, our stay was nice and we would recommend this resort for its close proximity to attractions but “away from it all” feel and with the additional recommendation of taking advantage of the in-room kitchen over the resort’s pricy dining options. We’d also recommend requesting additional towels and toilet paper upon check-in if your stay will be longer...
