We booked a room online for 2 Queen beds and got called back saying that room was unavailable, that only a King size bed was available. Why do you show rooms online that are not available and allow people to book them? Annoying. We arrived to check in around 5pm for a 1 night stay (Check-in was 4pm). We went to meet friends and came back later that evening. Room rate was expensive to begin with at $329.00 plus tax, $361. The room was nothing special, as a matter of fact we had towels with stains on them, placed in the bathroom as if to suggest they were clean. GROSS! But seeing it was 10pm at this point, we decide to use the one clean towel we did have. Also, there were several bugs crawling around on the floor, bed and walls. Also, GROSS. But that’s not all that was GROSS. Worst of this entire stay was the customer service. An extremely rude manager named Dave. At check out, I asked the girl at the desk if our room could get a “late check out” as advertised on the website for $40.00. The ask for late check out was to enjoy the lake on the property, not the room. But it would have been nice to have a place to change and wash up before heading back home. I was told by the girl at the desk that she would call “Dave”. I said, “Ok, even if we can’t extend the check out, we can use the beach-right?” I felt silly even asking, seeing this is okay at a million other Inns and hotels we have stayed at for less money. So, the girl at the desk called Dave, Dave said “no-no late check out and no-not allowed to stay on beach!” Like, Okay? Let’s be real, I was at the beach before I even approached the front desk. There were plenty of open chairs and lawn space-even enough space for a wedding to be hosted (as advertised) and there were maybe about 20 people total on the beach, and you say “no”? I said to the girl at the desk, “So we (my husband, son and I) can’t sit on the beach for an hour after check out? Again-I was told No. So, my husband went to return the key at the desk and I went to retrieve my items from the beach. As my husband was leaving the lobby, Dave showed up and then followed my husband out of Lobby saying “You’re not going to beach, we already told you’re wife-NO”. My husband said that’s ridiculous. Think about it, check in is at 4pm, check out at 11am. Really squeezing the time frame for that rate of +350! This man is Rude and to top it all off, threatening that if we didn’t leave the property he would call the cops!! Dave, don’t worry. We will never waist our money staying at your Inn again and we will make sure to tell all of our friends and family how ignorant and...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying here for a few days during the week. We had a lovely 2nd floor room with 2 queen beds. The room was clean and the view was Spectacular! The staff was nice however, our room was never cleaned . I had to take out my own trash and ask for new trash bags they had me get at the desk. They didn't have menus or any suggestions for places to eat or attractions for people unfamiliar with this adorable town. Well, I did get one suggestion for the restaurant at the beginning of the driveway. Asking for ice was like pulling teeth. They offered it but didn't want to give you too much . It was in the office you had to get it yourself. TV issues, you had to fix yourself with them guiding you over the phone. I also had to get extra towels myself at the front desk. Bring paper towels. You will need to do your dishes and I suggest you bring a sponge as well . The frig is very small. Have a cooler and get ice at the store .I felt like any time I had a question or needed something I was bothering them. Don't get me wrong, this is not a complaint more of a concern. This site is to give guidance with hope they will improve for future guests. Especially when paying high premium prices. The view is gorgeous. The beach is right there . It was a nice experience. I sure did get quite the workout though. The room to the lake was a bit of a hike. You can also take your car closer to the beach if you don't want to walk. Upon check in, they gave us no guidance and it was a bit difficult to get the lay of the land. But, by our third day we had it down packed. If you request a 2nd floor room as we did, be aware that thwre is no elevator. Be ready to climb some stairs. I am giving it 4 stars because even though we enjoyed our time , there were things I feel that they...
Read moreFabulous! Crescent Lake Inn & Suites had me at "hello"! From it's user friendly online booking to the desk clerk making sure our late arrival check-in went smoothly to the attentiveness of housekeeping in making sure my daughter didn't forget an article of clothing upon our departure, the owners and their staff were engaging without being intrusive! Our room was crisp and clean upon arrival giving us the feeling that we were the first to stay there. Housekeeping was at our door promptly every morning around 11 to make sure that we had enough towels and toiletries to stock our very spacious bathroom. All this supported two very comfortable queen sized beds with a beautiful view of Crescent Lake and the grand expanse of lawn sloping down to it. The sandy bottomed beaches with two docks for guests' boats, charming gazebo, shaded tent cabanas, and lounge chairs created a relaxed yet vibrant setting along the shore, while comfortable patio chairs just outside our room's lakefront door created a cool breezy opportunity to have lunch with my visiting 89 year old father who preferred not to go down to the shore. Despite the corona virus taking away the opportunity to rent canoes or kayaks on site, the inn still seemed to have a little something for everyone. I look forward to returning next year to see what else the inn and it's charming Crescent Lake setting may have in store and I am definitely and highly recommending it to...
