Our church group was a bit bummed out when we found out that the hotel we had hoped to stay at for our trip to Holmes County was sold out, and a sister property would be our new place to bed down. :(| THANK YOU FOR BEING SOLD OUT, ORIGINAL HOTEL!|Berlin Resort absolutely must be the winnah of the " Niftiest hotel to stay in for a group of oldsters " award!| Let me tell you why...|The resort is so easy to traverse. Elevators are on jet stream. The key cards work first time, every time. No half a dozen attempts to gain access to your room there!| The rooms are gorgeous! Microwave, coffee machine, USB ports, bright lighting, mini-fridge that is already on, thank you very much! Mounted flatscreen TV, no hassle air conditioner, and, drum roll please, a spacious balcony overlooking the miles of property detailing such as walking trails, pitch and putt golfing, two koi ponds with a plethora of hungry fishies awaiting your purchase of food from a quarter grabbing machine, as well as a ' mini village" just waiting for visits from fascinated kidlets.| The beds! Lay down and Zonk, you are sleepin'. Three pillows on each queen bed was a nice touch.| Toss in a gazebo and night time fire pits and that defines what Berlin Resort is all about.|Ah, but the real strength of this place is not the physical properties, but rather, the people that run the show. I will challenge you, dear reader, to find a more pleasant group of humanity found at any hotel. Graduates of Smile College, obviously, and more than willing to answer the multitude of questions thrown at them by our group. | They were even willing to chit chat a little. even while they were performing their tasks!|The bathroom set-up, of all things, deserves some mention here. Clever to have a separate washbasin from the other section; featuring a washbasin, toilet and step-in shower, sporting an easy to operate shower mechanism. Believe me, that step- in feature sure beats the heck out of a shower where my old bones had to climb into a tub.| On to the breakfast. This is not one of those el cheapo continental breakfasts! In a lovely setting, they give ya unusually delicious sausage links, hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, sausage gravy and muffins, pancake machine that pops out nostalgic silver dollar pancakes, a bread/bagel toaster, several juices, cereals, cream cheese for your bagels, yogurt, hot drinks with hot chocolate an option, and milk varieties which included chocolate milk that deserved my attention for three or four return trips. Must of been an Amish concoction.| The breakfast area was indeed attended by a charming Amish lass that quickly cleared our tables from used plates. Great way to start the day in Berlin, Ohio!| Memories were made from our church's visit to this oasis, and we shall make it a point to make it our go to hotel for future trips to Ohio's...

We have come to this resort for years and were really disappointed with our stay this past weekend. While the resort has added some great changes such as early check in, texted resort information, and updated signage; the resort is now lacking in other areas.
Many of the rooms desperately need upgrades with the carpet coming off the floor. The mattress was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept on, and we had to request fresh linens due to blood stains and other stains on them. Housekeeping simply dropped them off and didn’t change them for us. We encouraged our family to visit based on our previous experiences, and they found hair in their bedding.
Our first night, we had extremely loud guests above us. We inquired at the front desk if we could change rooms if they were staying on, and the front desk person could not have been less bothered. She said she would have a manager call us when they got there. No one ever reached out to us.
Super disappointed as this has been our vacation spot for several years. Due to a lack of cleanliness and customer service, we will now book a different hotel in the area for our future trips to Berlin.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I don’t even know where to start.
We chose this resort after making a last-minute decision to do a mini staycation/getaway. We were SHOCKED to see all the amenities at such a low cost. This resort offers 20% off for bookings on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
First, the amenities are superior. I have NEVER stayed at a hotel that offers an indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, AND steam room. Additionally, we were provided with free hot cookies at check-in, the chance to watch 2 free movies at the resort movie theater, stroll the walking path, and take in the gorgeous Amish country views of the resort. At night, we were also able to relax by the outdoor fire pits.
The room was superior and we were even given a happy anniversary card. The bed is the best one we have slept in anywhere and the touches of home helped us have the MOST relaxing stay.
We had such a great stay we booked a weekend getaway for my boyfriend’s parents. My birthday is in a few weeks and I am hoping we can come back and stay again!
Thank you all for superior service and the best...
Read moreAbsolutely amazing stay! My small family and I just wanted to stay in the Amish area after exploring a local petting zoo. The resort was amazing— did I say it loud enough for everyone to hear?!? AMAZING!! My 2 bed queen room was massive. Way more bang for your buck at this hotel than any others nearby, or even in my hometown. Walk in shower and huge garden tub were hits with my younger kids. If you had to travel with a pack n play or sleeper cot for your kids— this is the place to do it. The room held 2 queen beds, a large area built in the wall for tv and hanging up your personal items, a small side table with 2 chairs, end of the bed foot benches with storage, a mini fridge, microwave (very clean) and a 2 seater rocker/glider set. It was very comfortable and we all slept well.
The breakfast— WOW!! It was the cleanest breakfast buffet I have ever seen. The ladies who ran the show were very attentive. So many options on the breakfast buffet, if you left hungry, you didn’t step foot in the room.
My family and I explored the hotel while there. The gym was very quiet and had so many options for those needing various options. A private gym, fitness with heavy weights, balls, mirror and lots of space to use was evident. The locker rooms are very well kept. Newer carpet, clean large bathroom stalls for restroom and showering. The pool does go up to 5”, we managed to not get in the pool since we were only there one night. They do have nice pool towels and chairs around the pool area. One of the best things for my kids was the outside amenities. Two large areas that allow you to feed Koi fish food. Very clean, the property manager or landscaping team does an amazing job at keeping it up. There are individual playhouses that you can access near a large Amish made playground. This is the cutest area. My toddler enjoyed going in and out of the buildings and using the slide several times.
If this was a resort you have to get “stuck at”, this is the right one. Many options for just a small price to pay considering you can literally see a movie (nice comfy theater seats too); get a great nights sleep, large hot meal and cute places to relax in...
