On behalf of the customers that stay their also. When ordering food such as door dash that can get brought right to your room the front desk will stop the drivers delivering this great service and hold them at the front desk at least try to call up an order that we already know is coming waiving and claiming that they have policies in place causing scenes in the lobby that they gotta call a room to say orders on the way up when no public policy is in place for this. It's not discussed with the guest nor posted for delivery drivers that provide a fast easy service for the guest. The guest already know their order is coming as they can track it on their phone theirs no meet in lobby policy in place that anyone is aware of nor told about at check in anywhere posted on the website nor any other hotels in this area have a policy in place at others I've stayed at. Manager herself will stop delivery drivers at the desk to call a room and say the drivers on their way up when guest already knows and hold up the drivers from making a fast on time delivery. I believe a good resolution to this problem would be for front desk to personally take the orders up to the rooms themselves instead of enforcing policies they clearly don't cover with the guest and stop harassing delivery drivers. Especially in front of guest as it is a form of discrimination as such policies are clearly not posted on the website nor to guest at checking in times. No guest should half to leave their room and pick order up at front desk when no such policy is in place. Plus any other time I have stayed at this hotel I've never had a problem only when one manager is their seems to create such an issue. I have also contacted corprate since their are no policies in place i find this absolutely ridiculous and this review is for any guest that stays their to read the local delivery service is very fast and prompt as far as food ordering and it's convenient when your obviously their all night and tired from driving to have food or groceries delivered right to your hotel roo. On time I just can't understand why a nice hotel would try to get in the way of that and effect their guest from receiving fast service nor advertise it to their customers at check in nor cover hidden policies. Again as per response back below these policies are not posted for anyone making deliveries nor are they obviously discussed when people are checking in nor enforced by other workers as I've delivered their several times since seems that delivery drivers are being harassed bc your not doing your job not one customer has meet in the lobby some some safety policy, I see guest walk in all the time without. Checking in the front desk so Again the policy seems to only exist when somone wants to feel important is all this tells me that comment below is just a clear sign of that and is obviously discriminating if it was their in the safety of the guest then it should be posted threw hotel and gone over at check in so their on the same page and it's clearly not I refuse to check in to make a delivery I will leave it at front desk and you can safely deliver it to the room since your temporary policy that no one seems to be aware of can be gone over as you drop the order off this will cause more time and confusion then nessary since no one knows about imaginary policy I've been delivering their for years and never knew of this nor guest nor other workers . I have a policy and that's I don't work for you and I don't gotta deal with your intermediate bs harassing me and that's...
Read moreOur stay at the Towanda Fairfield Inn & Suites was a very pleasant surprise. We were wrapping up a 2 week vacation in New England and had not booked ahead for this particular night on our way back home.
We rolled the dice and couldn't have been happier with the outcome.
We stayed in a number of reputable chain hotels and Inns (3 and 4 star) during our trip throughout several states and I was incredibly disappointed a time or two. The squalor, poor service and lack of amenities were deplorable for these nationally know properties.
I have yet to receive a survey requesting feedback of any kind from them.
In particular, the breakfast was a pleasant surprise - better than we expected. We were initially not going to eat at the property, but rather find a diner in town. When we saw how clean the eating and serving areas were, that everything was well organized and that there was ample seating we changed our minds.
I wish I could remember the names of the two gals that served us upon our arrival and departure. The young woman who checked us in was a gem. Her name started with an S, was 5 letters long... She took time to talk with us and give us directions when we inquired; she was attentive to everyone as they approached the desk. You won't find her on Facebook or staring at her phone while she's on the job.
The gal who checked us out (Cathy maybe?), was also very friendly and eager to give information on the great state of Pennsylvania.
The staff member in charge of the breakfast area was apologetic (in a professional way) about a new waffle maker that was recently installed because it was taking a little longer than she thought it should. We assured her that the result was worth waiting for. She was friendly and good at her job as well. Unfortunately, I didn't get a look at her nametag.
I am an HR professional and I would recommend you do everything you can to retain these employees. They do Marriott proud.
Thanks for the opportunity to...
Read moreThe Fairfield Inn is a great option for hotels in the Towanda, PA area. The hotel staff was very friendly and happy upon check-in. The rooms were clean, but I was disappointed in the lack of housekeeping services at this time. My trash was overflowing during my stay because of the lack of house keeping services during covid restrictions. The dumpster next to the hotel is locked, so I didn't even have the option of taking the trash out myself. The suite was very nice and spacious, and I appreciated the upgrade during my business stay! I wasn't a fan of the very firm mattress, however. I had trouble getting comfortable and falling asleep at night because the mattress was so stiff. I also need the mini fridge to have a freezer component to re-freeze my cooler ice packs at the end of each workday. That was a frustrating part of my stay. I also appreciated the free breakfast, but I really hope the buffet-style hot breakfast returns sooner than later. The current options for breakfast were limited to milk, yogurt, banana/apple, and a microwaveable Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich. I ended up finding breakfast at the Sheetz next door because the hotel's breakfast was subpar. I spend alot of my workday hiking and climbing rough terrain, so a filling breakfast is a must prior to my workday, and I look forward to the hot breakfast bar in the hotel each morning. I'm already planning on staying here again for future work trips. If a couple of those items could be improved, it would make my stay...
