I stayed here with my family for a work trip twice in a one week period.
The hotel is over all clean upon arrival. We had pets traveling with us, and upon check in for my first stay, they gave us dog treats and a letter addressed to my pets as a breakdown of rules for them, which I thought was very cute.
The staff were overall friendly. Mostly clean rooms. THE POOL IS NOT OPEN! and they have no intentions in getting it fixed which needs to be accommodated in the price.
They hold money off your card with no warning other then a sign posted.
The first time we stayed they took an extra night from our account. So an additional $120 from our account. When we spoke with them they said it was deposit and would be back on our card within 7-10 business days.
This made us leave and go to another hotel that ended up being a worse experience, so we ended up back at this hotel for a second stay.
Upon check in for the second time, we did not get the treats with the pet breakdown.
However, by the end of the night, I checked my card and saw they took an additional $300 from us.
When I asked about the funds and demanded they be returned immediately, I was told they donât hold funds. I pointed to the sign that states that they do, and they said âoh well we canât give it back until you check out.â
I showed frustration over the missing money from my account and was asked to leave.
The rooms themselves are over all clean, how ever the tub is unsafe and there is mold beginning in the bathroom ceiling. Not nearly as bad as other locations, but it is a start and enough to make recommend you stay else where.
Riverstone Inn is owned by the same people, and they have a serious mold problem at that location as well (much worse than this location).
There are better hotels in the area, I would avoid this one so money does not come out of your account. Multiple co-workers had the same problem, so this is something they do often. Iâm still waiting for all of my money to...
Read moreAnother outstanding stay at Comfort Inn this is our third time coming back. We would not stay anywhere else when my family and I visit my husbandâs father in Towanda, PA. What makes this hotel so wonderful⌠the people that work there. Bridget Rice, the general manager continues to make the Comfort Inn an exceptional hotel. Bridget is welcoming to guests and treats all the employees with respect. Every morning there was enough breakfast no matter what time the guests entered the dining area. Joyce who made breakfast had a welcoming smile and gave us anything we needed. It was a pleasure to eat breakfast at the hotel with great food and a friendly atmosphere. Also tea and coffee available 24 hours! The rooms were always cleaned and I could see that the housekeepers worked very hard to make this happen. Last, but not least I wanted to add that Diane and Beth also helped us with anything we needed. They were never annoyed including the two new people (new to us) that work at the front desk, by our requests. They did everything with a happy attitude. If we needed a towel, a blanket, shampoo or ideas of things we could do in this area, they did not think twice about helping us as well as Joyce. They made us feel right at home and we felt like we were never a bother to them. I can see why this hotel is a Gold Winner. If you are coming to this area, do not stay at any other hotel in Towanda except for the...
Read moreI am originally from the area and we came back to visit family, but this was my first time staying at this property. We unfortunately encountered a very uncomfortable and strange situation that caused us to check out a day early and transfer hotels. My mother in-law was relaxing in the lobby and the front desk receptionist approached her some time after 10 pm and said her house was five minutes away and she needed to go home and asked my mother in law if she could give her a ride home. My mother in law said sorry I donât have a car. The lady told her to ask her son (my husband), she answered sorry he is sleeping. The lady then continued to ask her to wake him up and ask him to take her to her house. My mother in law said sorry I canât help you and the lady said thatâs fine no problem, end of conversation. I told my mother in law to come back to the room and I believe the front desk woman did leave, but am not certain. The whole situation made us very uncomfortable and was completely unprofessional that she would pressure a hotel guest for a ride. The situation also felt unsafe and I felt bad that my mother in laws first impression of my home town was this interaction, as I know it to be a safe and friendly place. Luckily the next morning they were understanding at the front desk and apologized, but you still canât undo this first impression and I felt it was important to let corporate know of...
