The people are mostly lovely here, basic motel with no elevator. Breakfast was about a step above basic with reheated potatoes, scrambled eggs from a carton, cold items, they had waffles. Breakfast room is tiny and it was crowded, loud and busy. The pool closed a half hour before we arrived so didn't see it. Rooms were clean, which is the most important thing to my party. Everything there was serviceable, the shower worked fine and the bathroom was dated but not sketchy. Did take everything valuable out of the car JIC but felt safe enough to fall asleep and sleep without waking frequently. Heard a cat outside my door in the night but was too tired to get up to say hi. The stairs were rather uneven and three in our party are disabled and it was rough to get up and down. The beds are doubles, they had two bottles of water in each room because it's that rubbery/chemically/wetlands kind of water in the taps so that was very helpful getting pills down and teeth brushed. No adjoining rooms, again, no elevator, and they did not honor our request at reservation for a first floor room even though we have a party member in her 90's with Alzheimer's and two of us with mobility issues and all three of us needed help up and down the stairs. If you stay with toddlers, please be super careful on those stairs, because they are uneven it becomes more challenging to navigate. Check in took a really long time -- no line, just super slow process for whatever reason. The staff I interacted with was kind and sweet. Needed a toothbrush, toothpaste and comb, which they had the most basic, though serviceable, versions of, no deodorant available, no lotion in the room. We needed a place to stay on a road trip and that's what it was so it worked for us. Not a spot I would spend a few days at or try to have some super chill relaxing time, but it works as a place to sleep for the night. Didn't hear any road noise from highway or anything and...
Read moreFirst, Google Maps lies. I can't even tell you how far out of the way it took us and then told us it was on the other side of the street. It's literally right off 95. It was like staying with your very friendly and happy Aunt Mildred, including the scenic route directions. The Christmas decorations were plentiful and the Christmas lights were set to seizure inducing. Our room was clean, tidy and the bed was made. Of course she loves dogs, as you can see! I'm not sure why there was a dehumidifier in the middle of the room, but the damp smell may have been a clue. Aunt Mildred needs some decorating advice as the dehumidifier was right smack where the table and 2 chairs should have been, in the middle of the room, but she put those between the door and the armoire. Don't try to have a nice dinner with your significant other or that massage therapist you met on Ashley Madison, Aunt Mildred wants you to remember that you should not eat in your bedroom. I'm not sure her eyesight is what it once used to be. She seems to be missing some mold in the grout in the shower. She's still got the touch when it comes to decorative hand towel folding though. Breakfast was just as you would hope. Aunt Mildred is not the best cook in the world, but she certainly gives you choices. Cereal, yogurt, muffins, breads, bagels, fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, undercooked potatoes, super crispy bacon, grits, fresh waffles, juice and coffee and more! All in all, we all love Aunt Mildred and forgive her her faults because she has a warm feeling and...
Read moreRecently remodeled in fall of 2024 with massive TVs and a dorm fridge. The rooms are nice with a jacuzzi tub in each room. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. They are pet friendly as well. For dog owners they have poop stations to get poop bags and dispose of the doggie fudge. Our dogs love the hotel rooms. But the dogs don't like the outdoors potty areas for whatever reason. The alpha male has no issues with the potty areas while the younger dogs are vain or something because they just want to bolt back to the room. Granted that they all grew up traveling like a family and are fine at other hotels. But they love the rooms and will have some dinner and it's off to sleep on the bed. But overall I would definitely call it a 3 star property because of lack of food in sight of the hotel. With the options of Wendy's and Waffle House. They used to have a Dennys on sight but has been closed for a while but hopefully Dennys is just remodeling and not closed for good. They really need a place like Dennys or an IHOP for the children and those who are exhausted from being on the road all night or day and need a good meal and some coffee to wake up and refresh the energy supply of the driver lol The beds seem to be very comfortable and new. Both my wife and I enjoy sleeping here for the night and we both have insomnia and we are able to get a good night's sleep here and it's very quite in general even when it's full up. Definitely better than most equal priced hotels and...
