Orient Star Samarkand — Hotel in Samarkand City

This hotel definitely caters for a European crowd and is a solid mid-range hotel. It is a bit of a walk from The Registan but if you cut down the street with the train line is is quicker and much more interesting as you go through the bazaar.|The rooms are very good and the best equipped we had in Uzbekistan. Wifi can be patchy as with most places.|Breakfast was excellent with a good variety.|The staff were helpful (even though they lost our booking) and were friendly.|No water in the pool (not it seems any fountain in Uzbekistan???)|Be aware though that the downstairs rooms windows open but have no screens and ultimately hard to leave them open for air as they open onto the street and bugs. |Overall a...

La cosa migliore di questo albergo è stata la nostra camera: davvero molto spaziosa ed anche ben arredata, peccato però che si trovasse al secondo (ed ultimo) piano e che in questo albergo non esistano ascensori.||La hall è piuttosto piccola e spartana ed inoltre presenta sulla destra un paio di gradini che possono generare qualche problema in caso, come spesso avviene, il locale sia affollato; sull'altro lato, prima della sala pranzo, vi è qualche poltrona e qualche divano, ma in numero decisamente insufficiente ed in posizione di passaggio.||La sala ristorante é piuttosto ampia, ma l'hotel ha molte camere e nei momenti di punta, come all'ora di colazione, finisce per essere insufficiente ed inoltre le pietanze sono raggruppate in un angolo che può essere scomodo raggiungere dai posti più lontani passando fra tavoli affollati e piuttosto accostati.||L'albergo è suddiviso in due edifici, separati dal padiglione della sala ristorante, ma fra i due non esiste un collegamento diretto cosicchè, per raggiungere l'ala più recente dove era la nostra camera, occorre prima salire e scendere vari gradini, poi uscire all'esterno ed attraversare il giardino (e per fortuna che eravamo in ottobre e la temperatura non era troppo fresca), fino a giungere all'edificio più recente, ma anche lì non vi è l'ascensore.||Infine l'hotel non è neppure al centro della città e le non poche bellissime attrazioni di Samarcanda sono lontane.||Di positivo vi è senz'altro, nel giardino, circondata e riparata da siepi, la bella piscina (esterna e perciò inutilizzabile in ottobre), mentre il WiFi ha funzionato bene ovunque; in fine le prese di corrente per i caricabatterie sono compatibili...

Yes unfortunately not good , we ware stayed at this hotel for 3 night , firstly not really good welcome , fews people in reception ok check in after no one walk with us to other building , we have to look for way to there ok , no lift (elevators) we had to care our case to 3.floor ok not bad room but no WiFi in the room ,all the time for internet we most go outside room , even we ask about help ,but no one care and no one help , location is also not very good ,but anyway I give 2 because of swimming pool it was nice to have swimming pool....
