Rayyan Hotel Samarkand — Hotel in Samarkand City

The best hotel I stayed in Uzbekistan, and it wasn't even the most expensive one!

The staff speaks English and was very nice and accommodating. The rooms are very nice and new. The beds tend to not be great in Uzbekistan but I found this one very nice. The swimming pool area is also great to chill out in the morning or afternoon. The breakfast was also very nice. It is walking distance from the train station so ideal for an early or late train. A Yandex to the main sites is around 30-35000 soms.

Just one issue. The luggage storage room is unlocked and they don't give you a tag with a number / name when you leave your luggage, so I feel anyone can take your luggage. They should...

Breakfast spread is extensive, great selection of fruits, nuts and vegetables in addition to the usual local fare. The staff are all friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Comfortable bed, good water pressure, fast wifi and immaculately clean. Conveniently located to both the main train station and local transport into downtown.
