My partner and I booked this accommodation at short notice and arrived by bus from Hanoi. Initially, we felt that our arrival had not been communicated. Nevertheless, we were welcomed and assigned to an available room.
Our plan was to take a one-day tour in the Ha Giang area, which we had booked through a local agency. That same evening, the organizer canceled the tour due to Typhoon Yagi. As a result, we visited various travel agencies, all of which were either unattended, non-existent, or closed. Since we had only planned one full day in Ha Giang, we were on the verge of despair. When we returned to the homestay, the family welcomed us very warmly and invited us to dine with them.
The whole family took care of us and treated us with respect, as if we were part of the family. We expressed our disappointment that the tour was canceled and that no other agency could offer us a suitable alternative. Immediately, the son (Tien), who has a lot of experience as a guide, made us an unbeatable offer.
The next morning, we went with part of the family to the Chinese border, bathed in a waterfall, and ate BBQ chicken. The excursion was rounded off with a visit to a viewpoint/café. After resting at the homestay, we had dinner with the family and then played cards.
We were given homemade sweets from the daughter (which, like all the food during this time, were extraordinarily delicious), tea, water, and coffee, without having to ask for them. The next morning, we were bid a friendly farewell after breakfast and boarded the bus to Hanoi, tired but happy.
We will never forget this unique time at the homestay. Thanks to the whole family for taking care of us at all times and for giving us insights into the everyday life of a Vietnamese family. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely see each...

We can only recommend going with Thien and his drivers. All bikes were in great conditions and we had an...
