My gf and I did the 4 day/3 night Ha Giang Loop with them and we had an amazing time! From the start to finish the owner was very helpful and responsive in answering all of our questions. The easy riders were kind and fun spirited.
I started by messaging them on WhatsApp and they were quick to respond with pricing and transportation options since we were coming from Cat Ba. There is an option for dorm housing or private accommodation with extra cost per person per night.
The owner helped us book our bus and when we arrived in Ha Giang the night before the start of our loop, we stayed in a private accommodation at the hostel with AC. FYI, if you are not a fan of cats then this place isn't for you b/c they have the most adorable 3 cats. The homestay provides storage lockers with locks so you keep your bags there while you bring a smaller backpack for the loop. They also provided a lazy cat shirt and printed bag which were really neat.
On the morning of the loop we had a simple breakfast and found out it was only going to be my gf and I making it a private tour. In the future, it would have been nice to ride and socialize with others but we understand that there is no control over who books with who. Hopefully this review will encourage others to also book with Lazy Cat 😄. We met our easy riders who provided us water and elbow/knee pads and then we were off to to the loop.
It definitely takes some time getting use to being on the back of a bike but the good thing is that at most we would ride for 30 minutes and then have a break before continuing the ride. Typically we would start each day at 8:30am with breakfast, ride out at 9:30am, have lunch between 12-1pm then arrive at our accommodation around 5pm with dinner at 7:30pm. The views are breathtaking and each day we had different activities planned such as swimming and trekking.
On the last day when we arrived back at the homestay and were waiting for our sleeper bus to Sapa, the owner provided us towels and even got us snacks for the ride.
Overall great experience and would recommend doing the...
Read moreOur 4 day/3 nights Ha Giang loop tour with Lazy Cat was the highlight of our Vietnam journey and the best 4 days of our lives!
Really cannot recommend Duy (the owner), his homestay and the loop tour he offers enough. We had the most amazing accommodations during the loop, all with a stunning view and/or pool, our easy rider were the best, the places we stopped for lunch at were truly the best (all with great Ambiente and views) - and yes, of course the Ha Giang loop is amazing, but we really felt like this tour was out-of-the-ordinary and such an amazing off-the-beaten-path experience. We had a stunning waterfall to ourselves, were the only ones in a cave, climbed bamboo trees, had the most stunning viewpoints (with cafés!) all to ourselves, and rode the craziest roads (or paths?!) through the most remote mountain villages. One evening we were part of a lively festival (Khau Vai love market) in dong van that no other tours seemed to even know of. And after 4 amazing days, which we thought really nothing could top, we were greeted by Duy, his lovely volunteers and cute cats in Ha Giang and treated with a hot shower, rooftop dinner, T-shirts and tote bags - all within one hour? There really cannot be a better homestay and ha giang loop experience. Importantly, the easy riders and tour guides are above-average paid, dined with us and slept in the same homestays; in most other companies, neither is the case. We loved that our riders were happy and we hung out as a group!
Additionally, Duy assisted us with bus booking and made sure the (always somewhat late) buses will actually pick us up.
Hence: If you are looking for an amazing small group, local, and authentic Ha Giang Loop experience - Lazy...
Read moreMy boyfriend left a review after we stayed in the hostel and the owner contacted me on Instagram and WhatsApp to send me agressive private messages - this is totally unacceptable.
There was no one at the hostel reception when we arrived and when we left. We accidentally ran into a volunteer upstairs who showed us to our room. The hostel itself and the room don’t look like the pictures on booking. The room was filthy dirty, there were ants in the bed. I’m not sure the sheets were clean… the walls are very thin, you can hear everything in the corridor and in the next door room. Also the door is translucent, so the light from the corridor at night is disturbing to sleep. The bathroom area looks like a construction site.
The included breakfast was supposed to start at 8am, which is quite late knowing that the motorbike tours start early. When we were leaving at around 8:10 there was still no sign of breakfast at all. I never said I didn’t need breakfast 😄 When we were leaving, there was no one at the reception either. We were just told by message to leave the money on the table.
Certainly it’s cheap. But other places in town are cheap as well. On our return from the loop we stayed in a different place for the same price, and it was really decent, with private bathroom, good breakfast starting early and actual people at the reception desk.
I think the owner should use his time to clean his hostel instead of sending agressive messages...
