First of all, im never going to this place back, nevertheless neither should you.
Reason for Such high Level of criticism, that I dont like to give, are many.
The Costs of this hotel are clear rip-off! Around 90$ for a simple room and a Burger 🍔 costing approx. 16$, people would except good Service, which they dont have. I mean the Staffel bearly speaks any english, had to use Google translate for comunication with anyone who is not in Front desk...call room Service, they dont get you, call room Service they barely understand you Except the fact that Burger Costed 16$, and dont forget we are in Vietnam, there was upper half of the bread spread with Mayonnaise and placed next to the Burger on the wooden plate where all mayo stayed after Lifting the bum up.
Salt shaker Was completely empty and in pepper shaker was, only God knows what....I assked the staff, they didnt know either whats in it (No Taste at all)
Despite the fact that I assked for "well Done burger" and room Service Staff confirming it, I Got a Bloody Burger.
It gets your Mind going "if they treat the plate like this, what about thier food"?
I have Check in arround 16h today, and at approx. 21h, a guy is entering my room without knocking on the door, hotel Personal they Just had the key, wanted to Check if I took Something from Mini Bar 😆 I mean cmmon whats wrong with you, I checked in 5 hours ago.
My Favorite - foolish Toilette seat, which is an Automatic one; means, the moment you sit on it, it starts splashing water all over your " intimate parts (to not be vulgar)" In Such hotel, in Vietnam, where you pay 2.3 milion of local curency for a room......................Sorry, but I have the right for a "shut-off" Button on that ignorant piece of Toilette technology!!!!! If you, as this price-range hotel, cant install a simple "on/off" Button on Something Private as 🚽, you have no right to be in this buisness! This Just proves how ignorant you are in persuading a profit, thank you but I will not play along.
Plus to mention, I made a call to Front desk and assked for someone to come and shut off this "garden sprinklers" they sent me room cleaning...without knowledge of english....after a fight with google translate, they promissed to send me a handy man to turn off electricity for this Toilette seat.....nobody came in and i still could not take "type 2 buisness" during writting of this review.
Conclusion! Managanent of this hotel focused on maximazing thier profit rather then goal for thier guests to return. Working Staff is clearly under paid and unmotivated to do work which is expected from a 80$ hotel stationed in this part of Hanoi.
I predict strong decline in guests visits to this establishment.
Hanoi has so much to offer for much less expenses, im staying in Vietnam for three months and will be visiting city of Hanoi frequently, looking forward what others have to offer. But to this place...
Read moreHorrible Christmas Experience at Novotel Hanoi – Avoid at All Costs!
We traveled from Sydney for a Christmas holiday, arriving at Novotel Hanoi on December 24, 2024, expecting a warm welcome and good service. Instead, we experienced some of the worst hospitality ever, with shockingly rude staff and complete indifference from management. • Ignored upon arrival: The reception staff pretended to be busy and ignored us, failing to offer even a simple greeting. • Rude receptionist (Linh): When Linh finally acknowledged us, she was extremely rude and dismissive. • Incorrect room allocation: Despite booking a room for 2 adults and 2 children, we were given only 1 bed and told we could either share it or pay extra—something that was never communicated at the time of booking. • Disrespectful behavior and language barrier: When I asked to speak with a manager, Linh started speaking in the local language in a disrespectful manner, ensuring I would not understand. This was incredibly unprofessional and made me feel excluded from the conversation. • Manager (Nuyen) was just as rude: When manager Nuyen arrived, instead of resolving the issue, she became even more dismissive and rudely told us to cancel the booking if we didn’t like it. There was absolutely no attempt at a solution or compromise. • Pressured to cancel with no time to find alternative accommodation: I politely requested a little time to find another hotel, but Nuyen refused and pressured us to cancel immediately. This left us in an incredibly stressful situation with two children. • Forced to find another hotel at 7 PM: Due to their horrible attitude and complete lack of customer service, we had to leave and scramble to find another hotel late in the evening, ruining the start of our Christmas holiday.
This was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The rude and unprofessional attitude of both Linh and Nuyen made it clear that customer service is not a priority at Novotel Hanoi. Instead of treating guests with respect, they humiliated us, refused to assist, and made our family feel completely unwelcome.
I hold the hotel fully responsible for this unacceptable experience and strongly discourage anyone from staying at Novotel Hanoi. Avoid this place...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Novotel Hanoi during my visit to Vietnam, and I can confidently say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish.
First and foremost, the location is perfect. Situated in the heart of Hanoi, the hotel is within walking distance to many of the city’s top attractions, including the historic Old Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and the bustling markets. It made exploring the city so convenient, yet the hotel itself remains a peaceful oasis, providing a quiet retreat after a day of sightseeing.
The room I stayed in was both modern and spacious, with a stylish design that immediately made me feel at home. It was well-equipped with all the amenities I needed, including a comfortable bed, a large flat-screen TV, a coffee machine, and plenty of space to relax or work. The highlight was the large windows offering a stunning view of the city. Everything was impeccably clean, and I appreciated the thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and premium toiletries.
One of the standout features of the Novotel Hanoi is its range of facilities. The fitness center is fully equipped and well-maintained, while the outdoor pool is a perfect spot to relax and unwind, especially in the evenings. I also had the chance to enjoy the hotel's on-site restaurant, which offers a delicious mix of local Vietnamese dishes and international cuisine. The buffet breakfast, in particular, was a real treat with a wide variety of fresh options, from traditional pho to continental fare.
What really made my stay memorable, however, was the incredible service. The staff at Novotel Hanoi went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed. They were always friendly, attentive, and more than happy to provide recommendations on local attractions or arrange transportation. I truly felt valued as a guest, which made my stay all the more enjoyable.
Overall, I would highly recommend Novotel Hanoi to anyone visiting the city. Whether you're traveling for business or leisure, this hotel offers the perfect combination of comfort, location, and outstanding service. I will definitely be staying here again on my next...
