Booked this hotel through Booking.com (it's listed there as Hanz 148 Hotel Go Vap), and they asked for my card details, plus mentioned there'd be a cancellation fee. So I roll up to the place, only for the guy at the reception to tell me they don’t work with Hanz anymore, and he couldn’t care less about my Booking.com reservation. He then suggests I pay the hotel directly, but the price? Way higher. Turns out it’s a love hotel, and the prices start hourly. He offered me a room for the night at 350,000 VND (because I was checking in late), but if I’d come in during the day, it would've been 450,000.
For context, I booked through Booking.com for 270,000 VND. No other solution was offered. I’d spent ages getting to this place (traffic was a nightmare), and even though I was exhausted, I wasn’t about to fall for what seemed like a blatant scam, so I left to find another hotel. The only decent thing about the whole ordeal was they let me use the toilet and charge my phone at reception.
Honestly, no other upsides here. Weird that you can still book the place on Booking. Make your own conclusions about how “clean” the marketing is...
