Minh Tam Hotel and Spa — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

We arrived in pouring rain, very helpful doorman help us with our rain coats, bags and luggage. Receptionist are helpful and beautiful. Room is clean. Entrance is excellent! The receptionist gave us the wrong room so when I change the room, she quickly apologize and change to the room that I booked immediately. My friend forgot my dry bag in the first room which I have some money and personal ID in it, the cleaner quickly open the room door so I can retrieve it back. But we were surprised that the room was occupied in such a short moment. I feel sorry for the guest because we do not know that they were there, but they are kind and honest enough to return my dry bag. If they are reading this review, I would love to apologize that we barge in without knocking as we don't know they're there in such a short time and I would love to thank them for being honest for not taking anything from my dry bag. Because it was raining, and we have no dinner yet, we decided to eat instant noodle in the room that we bought but no water heater in the room so we seek help from the cleaner lady. She is very kind and get us water heater and even help us to boil water. I'm a bit disappointed that they do not provide massage for ladies, which I really need after a long walk in the rain (we were scammed by taxi!!). No warm shower in the morning which I'm not sure why but luckily I have sweater that keeps me warm after shower. We checked-out early next morning and the receptionist that were fallen asleep acted quickly and apologize that he is tired, which is understandable, (it was 4a.m.) and help us to get a taxi to the airport. And thanks to him, he even inform us how much is the taxi fare so we would not be scam again by taxi (We've been scammed by taxi a lot in this trip, lesson learned, ). I was excited to be trying a new hotel only to be very disappointed.||I was booked here by friends so I can be near their office and home. Though it's a hotel and spa, I will review the hotel only at this time.||Location. It's in District 10 next to a 24 hour construction site.||Rooms. I was given a large room with 2 Queen beds at the highest price on the price list. I requested a change to a smaller room with just one queen bed. It took two days to move me while paying the higher rate.||My new room had a faulty room safe. Took 4 hours to get it repaired while we waited.||The lowest room price on the Internet was $17, so cheap. When I asked about it, I was told "not available." My price was $50 and $35.||Breakfast was included in the price. The main advantage of this place is that it is reasonably close to the airport. It is a two stars hotel but in my view if it had three stars I would believed that as well. Rooms are not particularly nice or beautiful and sometimes I would expect a higher level of cleanliness. But, the staff are really friendly and striving to address all my comments and queries. When I asked to redo cleaning or change the linens on my bed at 2:00 am in the morning when I returned to the hotel from my overnight trip they sent a cleaning lady to my room immediately and it was done quickly. They are trying to make me happy even with my non-accommodation related queries. The price corresponds to two stars so it is very reasonable. Given the location, friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the price it is a place to which I am happy to return to sleep.
