Hue Amazing Homestay & Nails — Hotel in Hue City

We booked 3 nights here. The staff was really friendly and helped us with everything! But the room... was. Disgusting. First we slept in the Maily hostel next to the sunshine 3 hostel. Because they were overbooked, we didn’t really had another choice but to sleep in the Maily hostel. This was kinda strange but Maily was a really nice and very clean hostel with very friendly staff. The next 2 nights we were supposed to sleep in the sunshine 3, that we actually booked. We came into the room and immediately there were 3 cockroaches running around our room (also on the bed😭). The guy from the hostel killed them all for us, we appreciated that. But then 3 other ones came out. At this point we were not going to sleep in this room anymore. We asked if there was another room but they were fully booked. So we went back to Maily because they had really clean and nice rooms. Maybe it was because our room was next to the swimming pool but these were a lot of cockroaches crawling around.. Over all, the staff was really nice and they would help us with everything. We had a confirmed booking via booking.com and advised hotel of arrival time. When we arrived, they said our room was not available as the AC was broken. They offered us a room at a different hotel for the same price and said we could have the room we booked the following day. I asked to see the room we booked in order to make a comparison to the new place and they said I couldn’t. As it transpired, they had double booked the room and so were lying to us - there was no problem with the AC. The room we were offered at an alternative hotel was 150,000 dong cheaper which they were going to pocket for themselves as they were trying to charge the same rate. They said we could use their pool while we waited for the alternative room to be cleaned but then tried to charge us for it when we said we didn’t want to move from the alternative hotel (we were only in hue for 2 nights so didn’t want to move) for the following day. The hostel is really good. The rooms all have beds with curtains, hot showers, and good air conditioning. The staff leave the air conditioning controller in the room so you can use it during the day if you want to sleep in, unlike a lot of other hostels.||The hostel has a nice indoor outdoor reception area that you can hang out in, and meet other travellers in.||The included breakfast is very good.||Jan and Jin, the staff members are very friendly, and even helped me out with finding a hospital for a medical issue.||The hostel was also kept really clean.||The location of the hostel is also excellent as it is right next to the main tourist district, with plenty of good eating options and bars nearby.||Everyone who stays here says it is an amazing deal for the price.
