We are unable to leave a review on Booking because we cancelled our reservation the same day we arrived, but I feel compelled to leave one here anyway. I will start with the positives first.

The hosts are incredibly friendly. The rooms and the property are beautiful, and so is the view. Can’t commend on the food because we haven’t tried it.

Unfortunately, this is where it ends. We check every place we stay for bedbugs just to be sure. We didn’t find bedbugs, but we found a HUGE patch of mold under the mattress, it even was still wet under it. Please view the picture attached. Once we requested to change the room because of that we were immediately given a new room. The new room still had mold under the mattress, not to the same extent though. However, it had slight mold stains on the pillows, which honestly is even worse. We were given the explanation that it is incredibly humid in this region this time of year, which I of course understand, but that does not justify not having either a proper de-humidifier, or shuffling the mattresses for that purpose. For the mold to become this bad it had to have been there for a while. Also, in comparison it’s nothing, but you can clearly hear if someone is speaking in the next room in a conversational volume, and the insulation is really bad - it was freezing both in- and outside the rooms, to the point where you could see steam when breathing out. I can’t imagine that the heated blanket makes up for that much.

And, after all of that, we were asked to still pay one night because they would not be able to give up the room. Understandable in some way, but considering that it wasn’t just our minor disliking that impacted our judgment but a genuine health hazard is just… something.

To finish off, we switched to a place in the same area, and they did NOT have the same problem at all, no mold anywhere to be seen, which makes the given explanation empty.

I do not mean to discourage people from coming here, again, the hosts are nice and the view incredible, but until what was mentioned improves it’s...

So’s homestay (Hmong Eco villas) is the absolute place for serenity, meditation and relaxation. We wanted a peaceful place in the mountains with rice fields view, far from the Sapa busy city (where there’s lot of hotels & shops).

It’s 30 min from Sapa city , please ask her for the taxi because Grab might be able to come to her place (I tried but it didn’t want to find her location, it kept giving another homestay instead as they have same addresses) . We arrived from Hanoi with the bus, her contact for the taxi can come directly to pick you.

The village is small but we walked around and people and kids always waved and smiled at us, which was truly blessful and touched our hearts. You can eat at her restaurant, it’s delicious, we loved the rau ( veggie) from her garden, the fried rice is also delish. We spent 2 nights in, and during November it can get a bit cold but the bed has a heater blanket which was divine 🌝 . Bring sweaters though ! It’s a bit humid also from the cold during this time.

We also rent a motorbike to visit Sapa during our stay (ask her, she rents them, about 170k a day) and it was great, but beware ! Riding in mountains can be tricky 😂

I recommend 100% this homestay,...

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it here! This has to be the best homestay in the area!

The location was perfect! It was nice and secluded in the middle of the rice terraces. The views from the balcony were absolutely stunning. It’s several miles from Sapa central and was perfect a for a couple days of relaxation. The staff (So and her family) are super kind. So speaks great english and was able to teach us about her culture, the area, her family, and her story is awesome. If you’re staying here, make sure you join in on their family dinner. They also offer activities like painting, and trekking tours. The food was great! There are a lot of options to choose from and it was all delicious. The prices are also very reasonable The room was comfortable and really clean. The homestay is fairly new which made it nice to stay in. One of our favorite things was reading a book on the balcony in front of the room and just enjoying the nice cool weather...
