Avoid Sunset Sanato Resort & Villas Phu Quoc! complete SCAM!!
I recently stayed at Sunset Sanato and had a very disappointing experience. Here are the key issues:
Half-Built Resort: Much of the property is undeveloped, resembling an abandoned village. Misleading Photos: Everything looks vastly different from the pictures advertised on hotel platforms. Kitchen Deposit Scam: Don’t pay the deposit to open the kitchen; they won’t refund it but will give you restaurant coupons instead. Unhygienic Breakfast: The breakfast options were disgusting and covered in flies. Villa Misrepresentation: They claim to have 1-5 room villas, but only 3-bedroom villas are available. If you book a smaller villa, they lock off the extra rooms, which is quite odd. Privacy Concerns: There are CCTV cameras in the living room, making us feel uncomfortable. Poor Housekeeping: Housekeeping failed to clean properly and even created more mess in our villa. Frequent Power Outages: We experienced eight power outages over two nights. They blamed it on island-wide issues, yet town and our new villa had no outages. Invasive Staff: Staff entered our villa without permission, despite being informed of our preferred cleaning times. Ant Infestation: Ants were crawling all over the bed. Dirty Pool: The pool was filthy and unusable. Unauthorized Room Usage: We found someone using our third unlocked room while we were out. Complaints to the front desk were ignored. Early Departure: Originally booked for four nights, we left after three due to the issues and requested a refund. They made it seem possible but later claimed nothing was wrong with our villa to Agoda.
Advice: Do NOT book this place! Read the reviews on Google to find...
Read morestayed here one night only,it is the last hotel i stayed in phu quoc, after that,i go to HCM city.the resort beach famous for sunset and IG photos-taking. but that day when checked in,not a sunny day,the sky rather gloomy, and even rained at the sunset time.i did take many pics at the beach, but the installation arts on the beach need more maintenance, quite old. the resort is a kind of villa, there are four rooms in a bungalow, i occupied one room, ohers are vacant that day.room not very big but comfortable, bathroom is clean, and with a bathtub.there are TV, fridge, wardrobe in the room, also it comes with aircon. i dont like the idea of sharing room with others, but no choice, they dont have hotel rooms at the moment.i noticed they started to build a boutique hotel near the villa. maybe one day can stay at their hotel? i had dinner at the resort, ordered tagliatelle with broccoli, mango smoothie and yogurt panna cotta ,only the dessert not good, others tasty, i love the pasta.but the price quite expensive. if you want to eat outside, you can walk to the nearby community, more options there. breakfast is buffet style, food very tasty and worth the money.they offer free shuttle bus to airport, but when check out,the staff said the bus service temporarily unavailable at that moment,so they called a taxi for me, but paid by the villa.anyway, good service! if you ask me want to stay here or not,if come again, next time i will stay more longer, cuz i didnt swim in the pool during the stay, one night too short, cant...

My husband and I booked it on Agoda for a weekend away but very disappointed.
First, it doesn’t say it’s a villa that will be sharing living room, kitchen ,dinning room and swimming pool with others. There is no privacy which is pretty like you pay for a hotel room.
Majority places check in at 2pm but this one is 3pm and still late and room not even ready when we were checking in at 3:30pm ( mind you we arrived 8am in the morning and let the reception know that we had reservation, plus the place was not busy)
The service was unprofessionally as in the receptionist went to served other people in the middle of explaining all the stuff with us.
There are 4 rooms in the villa one downstairs and other 3 upstairs. They didn’t let us use downstairs room when there is no one and of course they are all locked.
There is absolutely nothing in the kitchen that you can use if you book in as a big group or a big family. Be mindful, there is a camera in the living room.
Last but not least, the air-condition doesn’t work in our room for the whole night till we told them the next morning. ( they said they checked everything before we use it 🤷🏻♀️)
I understand we are all different and have different tastes. I was very disappointed and hate to leave any bad review. But I really hope this helps you can book a nice, comfortable and worth what you are paying for the time you get...
