Having recently returned from a trip to Phu Quoc, I gotta say, Sunset Sanato Beach Club was a highlight. But before you book your stay based on those Instagram-worthy pics, let me give you the real deal.
The Good: Unbeatable sunsets: This isn't just marketing hype. The view of the sun dipping below the horizon is truly breathtaking. The beach itself is clean and spacious, perfect for long walks or just soaking up the rays. Activities galore: From water sports to a dedicated kids' club, there's something for everyone. I particularly enjoyed the kayaking, which offered a different perspective of the coastline. Foodie heaven: While a bit on the pricey side, the restaurants here are top-notch. Fresh seafood, international options, and poolside cocktails - they've got it all. Stunning design: The entire place is like an artist's playground. The sculptures and installations scattered around make for some incredible photo ops.
The Not-So-Good: Pricey paradise: Be prepared to shell out some serious cash. From entrance fees to food and drinks, everything here comes at a premium. Crowds can get crazy: Especially during peak season, the place can get packed. Finding a lounge chair by the pool or a quiet corner on the beach can be a challenge. Luxury for a select few: The overall vibe is quite luxurious, which might not be for everyone. If you're on a tight budget or prefer a more laid-back atmosphere, this might not be your ideal spot. Overall:
Sunset Sanato is undeniably beautiful and offers a wide range of activities and amenities. However, the hefty price tag and potentially overwhelming crowds might not be for everyone.
My recommendation: If you're looking for a luxurious beach getaway and don't mind splurging, Sunset Sanato is definitely worth considering. Just be prepared for the crowds and factor in the cost before booking.
P.S. Don't miss the chance to catch the sunset from The Gatekeeper sculpture - it's an experience you...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Sunset Sonata hotel and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience. From the moment we booked our reservation, the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service we received from employee Quang. He contacted us a day before check in and offered transfer from the airport, which was a great convenience. He also offered us an early check in at 10 am rather than the usual 2 pm, which allowed us to settle in and relax right away.
Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome drink and the manager at the desk personally showed us to our villa and explained everything in detail. The hotel staff were all incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay.
While the prices in the restaurant were a bit on the high side, we found them to be reasonable considering the quality of the food and service. The golf cars that were offered to transport us around the hotel were a nice touch, but we preferred to walk around and take in the beautiful surroundings at our own pace.
The beach and pool areas were both well-maintained and had plenty of sunbeds available. We also appreciated the fact that Quang was able to assist us with a transfer free of charge to a bus stop where we could catch a bus to Vinpearl Safari.
To top it all off, Quang even allowed us to check out late due to our flight being at 6 pm, and arranged for a transfer to the airport. We were truly grateful for his assistance and the overall hospitality of the staff.
In conclusion, I highly recommend the Sunset Sonata hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. The staff were friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the facilities were beautiful. A special thanks to Quang for making our stay extra special. We will definitely be returning...
Read moreSunset Sanato in Phú Quốc is a must-visit check-in spot despite its flaws. This place has clearly been around for a while, and it seems like little has been done to maintain or upgrade the facilities. The ticket booth doesn’t display prices clearly, which can be confusing for first-time visitors.
Once inside, I was surprised to see a female DJ standing in the scorching sun for hours, playing loud music non-stop. It felt like she was being grilled under the intense heat like a dried squid. The music was extremely loud and overwhelming, which took away from the romantic vibe you’d expect during a seaside sunset.
That said, I still rate this place five stars – not for comfort or service, but for the stunning, dreamlike atmosphere it offers at sunset. The iconic sculptures and art installations along the beach create a magical setting, perfect for photos and peaceful reflection. It’s a rare place where you can let your soul drift with the sunset.
However, the public restroom was shockingly dirty and dark – even during the day. The strong odor of old urine and lack of cleaning made it nearly unusable.
Fortunately, near the restroom area, there was a juice stand where we found some relief. We had a cold, fresh watermelon juice and a shady spot to relax for a moment.
All in all, despite the downsides, Sunset Sanato is still worth visiting for its one-of-a-kind...
