This has the facade of a five-star resort, but lacks many of the features one would normally expect. It feels like a work in progress.
The service is spotty, but generally good. Most of the staff is friendly and tries to be helpful. English is somewhat limited, but generally in those situations where it's necessary, English is adequate.
The rooms are nice enough, but with a couple of quirks. The worst feature is the inadequate glass wall in the shower that only extends about 2 ft, so inevitably everything on the floor becomes soaked. Hard to understand why it was designed that way. There are also no hooks or bars for hanging a wet towel except in the shower itself, so we ended up draping them over chairs.
Mixed review on the location. The hotel is high up on a hill overlooking the ocean. There is a beautiful beach visible from our hotel room, but it's a 10 or 15 minute walk down to it. On the plus, there is an escalator that takes you most of the way there. On the minus, there are no showers or even foot washes so you'll be walking back to your room with sandy feet.
The location high on the hill can lead to extreme winds on occasion. It was quite unpleasant the day we checked in, though today is not so bad.
There are only a couple of restaurants on site, and it's a long drive to anywhere else. Because of the seaside location there are some good seafood restaurants along the coast, though they are pretty much all of the South-East Asian open air ramada type. Don't expect a Red Lobster!
The breakfast buffet is adequate. Mostly aimed at Vietnamese tastes, but you can get omelets and fried eggs and a good variety of breads and fruits.
One event that stands out was when I attempted to take a cup of coffee back to my room from the breakfast buffet. They stopped me at the exit and made it very clear that it was not allowed. I've never been in a hotel before where you could not take a cup of coffee back to your room. Just another example of lack of five star grace.
In summary, interesting to visit for a day or two, beautiful location and some good promotional deals, but it's a long ride from Ho Chi Minh City and not a place I would stay very long. Hopefully with time they will adapt and rise to five...
Read moreI spent two nights with my family here. The swimming pools are good, and the beach is very remote, but the shoreline was full of plastic waste and dead fish or squid. The freshwater shower did not work. It is located very far from Phan Thiet city. If we wanted to try some local food, we had to catch a taxi, which was quite inconvenient. I often travel nationally, regionally, and internationally. This might have been the first time ever that I experienced a room rate of almost 100 USD per night, but I had to purchase a comb, a razor, or anything else I needed. No tea or coffee was provided. The first night, I had to stay without an electronic fan or air conditioning. I turned the air conditioner on, but it did not work. I called twice, but no one answered from the receptionist's desk. Even when I met and reported to the receptionists, no one fixed it for me. Finally, I tried to check, then, saw the switch for air conditioning was turned off. I was disappointed with their services. I agreed to upgrade my room rate to make sure it included breakfast for my wife and two kids, and I requested twin beds. But when I checked in, they said that even though one kid was just six years old, the second was eight years old. Thus, I had to pay an additional charge of 10 USD per night for two nights, and the breakfast was just a light one. I had to pay 8 more USD to upgrade to enjoy the full breakfast. To deal with this, I asked them if I could lower my room class and then eat out of the hotel, but they said no. They only allowed me to upgrade to a higher rate. No twin beds were provided thus I must sleep on the couch for 2 nights there. In short, this is my personal experience with this hotel and I totally do not recommend you to book this hotel if you want to enjoy your...
Read moreI liked the hotel and its amenities. However, the location is far from the Mui Ne city centre and therefore without a car or a scooter, transportation to interesting places would be too much of a hassle. The room was nice and clean. It lacked more storage space for clothes and smaller items. There are many pools you can chill in. To get to the parking area, you can either go by foot, use the escalators or ask for a "golf car" to get you there. Either option was just fine. The buildings look monstrous and can scary you a bit when you see it for the first time, but it's actually fine and the view to the see is beautiful. The area is pretty windy, but I liked it since the weather was hot. The room was quite spacious, but it lacked a place where you could dry your wet swimsuit. Also I could hear noises from the hall. I wouldn't stay in the hotel for more than 3 days and that's because I would be simply bored here. I couldn't image being accommodated here for a week. Also, the hotel was fine and since it is new, everything looked clean and modern, but I wouldn't rate it as a 5-star hotel, it simply didn't have the vibe at all and the service wasn't anything extra. To give an example, before arrival I asked whether they could help us renting a scooter in the city. The answer was they do not provide scooter rentals, when I asked again and emphasised that I only need the help with finding a good rental shop and possibly asking for delivery to the hotel, they didn't reply at all. Overall, not bad to go here if the hotel offers promotional prices...
