Returning to Ho Chi Minh City – A Memorable Stay in Ho Tram
Today, we are heading back to Ho Chi Minh City after an incredible experience in Ho Tram. Our time at The Grand Ho Tram Resort (Holiday Inn Ho Tram) has been nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the level of service and hospitality provided by the staff was truly outstanding.
The resort has gone above and beyond in every aspect, impeccable service, beautifully maintained facilities, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere that made our stay unforgettable. The combination of world-class amenities and the serene coastal surroundings made this visit a perfect retreat.
I highly recommend both The Grand Ho Tram Resort and the region itself for anyone seeking a luxurious yet tranquil getaway. Ho Tram is a hidden gem, peaceful, picturesque, and truly off the charts in terms of experience.
Until next time, thank you Ho Tram for the wonderful memories.

Read moreHidden gem that exceeded our expectations! We were looking for a resort to stay over Christmas, that would be quite close to Hồ Chí Minh City. I am so glad we found this! The hotel provides free bus drive from City to hotel, and it was comfy and smooth transition.
Hotel was just gorgeous. Everything was fancy, clean, well-kept and grand! Beautiful artwork and interior wherever you looked. Room was spacious and beautiful. There was little bit of dust on the moldings of the bathroom door, but otherwise clean and neat. The beds were just right: soft but firm.
The common areas of The Grand were amazing. The pool area is huge, with many options of cabanas, sun beds and beach chairs. You can find more quiet places or choose a place with more people around. There are two pool bars. Greenery is well kept. The beach is right next to the pool area. The DJ by the pool was playing really good music!
The breakfast in Lemongrass was diverse with bacon and sausages, cheeses and vegetables, breads and pastries, fruits and drinks. OFC there was an egg station (try the poched egg!) and Asian food as well.
We also ate by the pool, Coral cafe and the Fuel Sports bar. Everything was delicious. The grilled chicken sandwich with fries (by the pool) is enough for two people! Only thing we felt was overpriced was the chicken wings in Fuel. It was quite pricey for just six wings.
We had Turkey Buffet on Christmas eve on Lemongrass. It was well worth the money. All the seafood was the best part of the Buffet. Only thing that would have made our Christmas eve experience better, would be to have little bit more atmospheric and dim lights in the restaurant. It was as bright as during the daytime and therefore not so calm. Also, maybe on the special night there could be a dress code? We were dressed smart casual/cocktail, but there were many people with flip-flops, oversized tees and sport shorts, so it took a bit off from the festive atmosphere.
The staff has been really nice and helpful. Not all of them speak English so there might have been some confusions, but nothing major. Everyone is eager to help and that is the most important thing! Special thanks to the lady working on Fuel (her name tag said NB)for making us feel super welcome with special Christmas drink and chatting with us in English, and also the lady who always remembered our coffee order during breakfast time!
The hotel is suitable for families with children with Kids club and children-friendly pools. We were traveling as a couple and managed to find quiet...
Read moreFacilities: 10/10 The room and lobby are new and impeccably clean, featuring modern design. The beds are extremely comfortable. Guests have access to both the Holiday Inn and its sister resort, the Intercontinental Grand Ho Tram, which boasts stunning European-themed decorations. The swimming pool is maintained to a high standard, being cleaned daily, and the beach is similarly well-kept with staff regularly removing trash and jellyfish. However, the beach itself is less picturesque compared to those in Cam Ranh, Phu Quoc, or Da Nang.
Dining: 10/10 The Vietnamese cuisine is authentic, unlike the European-influenced offerings found in many five-star resorts. The pastries are exceptional, made with high-quality ingredients like butter and fine bread flour, and are not overly sweet, making them suitable for senior citizens. The cheese used in dishes is imported and of very high quality.
Service: 6/10 Service is an area needing improvement. Unlike staff in other hotel groups such as Accor and Marriott, the staff here were not particularly friendly and did not greet guests. Upon arrival, with only two of us, no assistance was offered with our luggage. Staff seemed to prioritize larger groups, leaving us to carry our luggage to our room ourselves.
Location & Transportation: 10/10 The resort's prime advantage is its location and transportation services. A complimentary shuttle bus is provided from Ho Chi Minh City’s District 1, making the three-hour journey to the resort convenient and cost-effective, eliminating the need for airfare or long airport waits. The resort is also close to downtown, just a short 3 km taxi ride away, where we enjoyed fresh and reasonably priced seafood.
= Conclusion This resort offers excellent value for money, combining high-quality facilities and dining with convenient transportation at an average cost. Despite some service shortcomings, I would definitely return...
