Ixora Ho Tram By Fusion — Hotel in Phuoc Thuan Commune

This is a fine, relaxing resort and we had a fantastic time there.|The Real Good:|First, if you stay at the Ixora, you also get access to the events, stores and facilities of The Grand and The Holiday Inn Resort, and while it may take a little effort to figure out exactly how to get where you want to go, they give you some handy maps and have a full-service buggy to take you wherever you want to go. With beaches, tons of pools, clubs, restaurants, kiddie playgrounds (wet and dry), spas, an arcade and movie theatre, this is a good complex of hotels to spend your time at.|As a traveler, I live by one maxim: Happiness is a breakfast buffet. If that's true, the Ixora is nirvana. The breakfast options are varied, a good mix between western and asian flavors. Tons of fruits and baked goods. And they shake it up a little every day, so you can try some different things. I'm too ashamed to admit how much I indulged at breakfast time there, but it was embarrassing because the layout is irresistible and bountiful. The breakfast is dynamite and a great way to start your day at Ixora.|The grounds at the Ixora are lovely, well-maintained and designed. We took morning and evening walks through the koi ponds and waterfalls. Very peaceful.|The room (a double suite) is spacious enough, but very well-designed. Every room in this hotel has an ocean view, expect for maybe the ground floor.|The staff is extremely courteous and professional, and you could not expect better service anywhere.|For all that you get, the price is very reasonable.||The Not-As-Good:|This is a small thing already remedied by the hotel, but the beach is hit-and-miss. When we went, it was closed and we had to use the beach at the Grand. It's a short walk (5 min) or you can take their little buggy. It's a small thing, but I feel it's worth mentioning, because it is a beach resort, after all.|Also, this might be more of a personal thing, but if you go to the main restaurant (Sea Salt) in times other than breakfast, they charge you for distilled water and there isn't table water. It doesn't cost much, but I get a bad feeling when I'm asked to pay for something every other place gives me for nothing. Again, it isn't cost-prohibitive, but just a little weird to me.|In addition, the Ixora (as well as the neighboring The Grand and Holiday Inn) are remotely located, so getting to a place to shop locally and meet some regular locals is not very easy. My family and I prefer the getaway resort like Ixora, but if you're looking to immerse yourself into local Vietnamese culture while you vacate, this might not be the place. The Ixora is quiet and relaxing and the environment lends itself more to reading a good book at the pool or napping in the shade than it does dancing the night away.|The benefits of staying at the Ixora FAR outweighed the disadvantages. Because it is not a good value for what we had paid. The villa we booked has Kitchen & Microwave BUT THE RESORT IS NOT ALLOWED US COOKING. We asked the hotel and we have been told if we want to cook, then we must pay extra $4,000,000 VND. It is a new villa to rent out while waiting for a buyer. If we knew this in advance, we WON'T BOOKING AT IXORA HO TRAM. Location is bad!!! Few km away from the shopping, if you want to eat outside the resort it is not convenient at all. If people want to swim / play at the beach, then must go to the GRAND HO TRAM beach by electric car. Unlike other hotel or resort has beach front where people can swim there at its private beach. It is misleading information. The worse customer services I have ever experienced. I have a visitor at lunchtime, I took a visitor to the IXORA hotel Restaurant and had meal there. The waiter asked me the room number, I thought I will pay the final bill when I check out. After the meal, my visitor left, I returned to myroom, I was so surprised to know that the restaurant called me to go back to the Restaurant to pay the foods bill. The structure and design of the hotel is amazing. Our room has a fantastic overlooking view of the garden. The room is very spacious and modern! They have an infinity pool, and shuttle service going to the Grand. You can also enjoy the facilities in their partner hotels. The buffet breakfast is really great as it has different selection of food and drinks. There is also a minimal issue to address in the room, there are few bugs in the toilet.

I would like to commend, Phong and Sang for assisting us, the lady at the front desk for the smooth check out and explaining things about our shuttle service going back to HCMC, and the two bellmen who were working at night for driving us to the Grand and for sharing about the Water show. They really did their best to assist us and explained things well with their warmest hospitality. Thank you so much!

We really like the infrastructure and the atmosphere of the hotel, but the front desk Huynh dropped the service when checking in. He didn’t explain the facilities, the room, what we can do in the hotel, and when asking him about the amenities in the room, he gave me an attitude. He doesn’t even smile or greet us well. It was my first time in the hotel and we don’t know anything about it so I was curious about what to see and experience in it.
