I suppose only Vienamese people rate it full - but most other tourist have complete different expectations! Let's start positive: The Vietnamese hotel staff was very nice and helpful though not really trained (you have to tell that cups are missing or bowls or napkins). Also the tourguide (one day we booked a tour) -was very nice and tried his best to explain us something thought he hardly spoke any English. Also the rooms on the upper floor with a magnificant view and a plate with fresh fruits were realy nice. BUT: This all does not at all the money you pay, especially when comparey with all other places we stayed. Much too overprized because: Not a real quiet, peaceful and tranquelizing place. Woken up on Sunday at 6 am by noisy guests and their kids running around and yelling. On Saturday night local youth comes up to hotel to drink up the rice wine from a dance performance. Constant flow of local visitors for foto shooting in front of pool. Internet in rooms did not really work. Plates and bowls greasy and sticky. Foreigners are treated different ( forks and knives instead of bowls and chopsticks). Menu handwritten notes, expensive. Dining room not cozy or comfortable. Breakfast buffet not very clean. Not enough chairs or beda around pool. Most annoying that there were always people hanging around for taking pictures of themselve. There are definitely much mor enicer (and even more ecological) place to stay at this great national park and to explore Vietnam.
Read moreOne night getaway at the eco-garden. The view is amazing and and so is the pool and the rooms. Booked a room with balcony view, which was amazing, but where two hours later requested to leave the room because there had been a mix up, seemed like some kind of instagram-figure had more rights to get in there. The room we got after was nice but just not wat we wanted. The dinner was allright but not amazing.. wanted to ask something about it but none of the staff was able to speak english.. Woke up the next day without any electricity which wouldn't be fixed until the end of the day, so went for a hike and after that wanted to spend my last hours relaxing by the pool reading a book (which is already a bit difficult since there is only one sun-bed for the whole hotel) but came back to the sight only to find bus-loads of tourists, taking pictures of every inch they possibly could and literally taking over the whole place (even the swing of my personal balcony was not safe) they just came to take (600000) photo's and have lunch. Dozens of children running and screaming around, literally demolishing chairs and anything else they could lay their hands on. Parents did not say anything, neither did the staff. All the 'real' hotel guests were visibly bothered, since there are signs everywhere that ask you to be silent and keep your fellow guests in mind since you are in an 'eco-garden'. Wanted to go for a swim but really did not feel comfortable with over 40 tourists breathing in my neck, having their camera's ready. First I thought I was just complaining about a one-time event but this seem to happen all the time..
I really expected more of this place, yes it does look good on photo's, but my overal experience was very poor. Which is a shame because the place has...
Read moreWe booked Pu Luong Eco Garden for 2 nights. we arrived on the first day and were shown to our room. There was no electricity in the room and the guy that helped us bring our luggage up realised this and started flicking some switches. He left and the power never came on so we had to go to reception and explain. Thought he would have told someone. Eventually it was fixed.
We headed to the pool, there were no towels!
The restaurant was being done up so we were told we had to go down to another house? to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. They didn't have a lot of the items on the already limited menu. Also no drink only beer. The food was lovely though and big portions! That night the builders continued working on the restaurant making noise until 10pm.
The next day our room was never cleaned and we never got water in the room. The wifi wasn't working for the entire day so we went to reception around 5pm to explain and they acted surprised. Luckily the restaurant opened this day for lunch and dinner. Still missing a lot from the menu and almost everything from the drinks menu wasn't available, cocktails, vodka, gin etc...only beer.
Pu Luong is lovely, the room and pool are brilliant but the way things are run seems to be a bit of a mess. English is poor from the staff. It's hard to know who's working there. Loads unnecessarily standing around looking at you.
We understood that we are in rural Vietnam and with local people so supplies may be hard to come by but it would have been nice to have been told that the Eco Garden was only running at 50% so we could have been prepared and brought food and drinks. We met other guests who were also disappointed with the...
