Where do I begin. The hotel reminds me of when I went to Vegas and stayed at one of the lower budget hotels on the strip. It's huge, but so incredibly outdated. I felt like I'd gone back in time to an old peoples home in the 70's. The boulevard it's on reminded me of a slightly less tacky Blackpool. Christmas tree and decorations were still up (11th January). Random bits of furniture everywhere making it feel cluttered. The dining area was huge, all the tables were set out in 12's which is really odd. Table cloths and chair covers really old fashioned and faded making the area look sad and tired. Breakfast was abysmal, such poor choice of fruits and no pastries or toast (there was bread in a hot plate but it wasn't toasted). The fried eggs and bacon were cooked up and then left out but not on a hot plate so they were cold. The tea peculator kept getting turned off, so the tea was cold. The room was large, the bathroom was very nice and had the most modern decor in the hotel. Beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable. The housekeeper was very friendly and did a load of laundry for us very quickly. The reception staff when we checked out were all gathered together like a group of sulky teenagers. We weren't asked to fill in a satisfaction survey like in other hotels. We weren't printed an itemised bill before being asked to pay. No one offered to help us with our bags. No one was interested in us or how our stay...
Read moreWe gotten the round room and were surprised how spacious it was. Everything is strategically placed to manage the spaces to the max. I'm almost 6 feet tall and didn't have issue moving around in the cylindrical room.
There were 2 doors with individual keys to further make things convenient. Back door goes directly into the bathroom after your sandy walk at the beach and front door is for access to the room.
The bed covers the entire mid section of the room and it was a KING (6ft x 6ft) sized bed (or was it bigger?).
Power sockets were every where in the room for charging our gadgets. TV and fridge were tucked in a corner, out of our way.
The AC used was FCU installed under the bed with supply air coming out from one side of the bed and the return air into the other side of the bed (brilliant idea to utilize the space under the bed). There are 2 ventilation fans for the room and the bathroom. The AC is on 24/7 (perhaps an water cooled unit) to keep the wooden room dry and cool.
However, I'm don't recommend a long term stay due to the concern for health. Looks like there is too much chemical used for coating and sticking during renovation. Need to confirm the IAQ VOC and Formaldehyde levels...
Read moreI booked the hotel for summer vacation of the kids with the outside look from internet, I had never been there before. The outsite images are not really good to attract my attention, and the price is little high as well. However, when we was there, everything made me suprise, the big room, clean, beauty view, good service, nice garden, packing place, swimming pool... and the price was reasonable now with all the facilities.||||One star still can not give for this hotel because the swimming pool is not big enough for all the guests (even my kids were really enjoy it), the foods not too...
