I called Eliba apartments (which was well recommended by colleagues) on 15th June and reserved an apartment for dates 3rd to 7th July 2020. I asked if I could pay immediately but the person attending to me told me that they will only accept payment on the day of arrival and that there was no need for me to pay immediately. According to the lady i spoke to, a mere reservation was enough.
My gut feeling told me to call this morning (26th July 2020) to reconfirm my reservation and to my shock, the same lady that I had talked to on 15th June and made the booking for me tells me that the rooms are taken and people have paid directly to the director of the establishment. Is this how things work?? Do I need to know the director for a booking to be confirmed? To make matters worse, the lodge had no courtesy to inform me about this development. I was told by themselves that they will find me alternative accommodation.
