Great village but if you come as a tourist TAKE A LOT OF CASH BEFORE, we were a few having issues there cause the entrance to the national park is cash only (850 for forreigners in 2019 when i have been) then the bus can only be paid cash, the hostel could only be paid cash (whales tours and shops accept cards at least) and the only cash machine in the village was not working (and is never working it seems ... And when it does it is anyway not the same communication system as the foreign cards so it cannot work!)
All the whales boat companies have the same price and similar timing so i would recommend you to compare them mainly on the kind of boat they have and the number of people booked for the next trip. Read moreDentro de la Reserva de Península Valdez se encuentra este pequeño pueblo que cuenta con un centro de dos cuadras en las que hay algunos restaurantes y sitios de venta de excursiones. Tiene una hermosa playa de aguas de un intenso azul marino muy frías donde se puede hacer kayak y de donde salen las embarcaciones para el avistaje de ballenas y buceo. Hay una zona hotelera cerca del centro y también un camping. Nosotros estuvimos una noche alojados porque para recorrer la península y los puntos donde se pueden ver pingüinos, lobos, ballenas hay que recorrer varios kilómetros de ripio y hay que hacerlo con precaución porque muchos autos terminan volcando en este recorrido.
