DO NOT BUY A GOWN FROM HERE: I have had the worst experience after recieving my gown from Adelaide Bridal, the owner (Phil) clearly isn't interested in a customers experience. I truly feel for the poor ladies that work there and the abuse they are likely to cop on a daily basis due to his incompetence!
I was fortunate enough to win a gown from Adelaide bridal after winning a competition at a bridal expo. I went in and picked out a dress in June - this experience was lovely. I was told i would have my dress by christmas. As i am getting married in april this was perfect for me.
Come mid-January i hadnt heard anything about the whereabouts of my dress. For the next 2 months I continued to contact them every day. Each time i would ring I would get the same story.. "Phil has called the supplier and is waiting for call back, sorry I can't tell you anymore, I can get Phil to call you back". . . He never called me back.
After a month and a half of this i was able to get down to adelaide (I live 3 hours away) i showed up at the store, i waited for Phil for 15mins as he tried to get me to leave passing messages of "hes busy" through the store assistant. Once he finally came out to meet me, he could not give me a straight answer and was quick to rush off to "do the post".
I had come to my wits end... i contacted the designer himself to find out about this "supplier" issue. There was none, my dress had been sitting in Melbourne awaiting the store to arrange delivery. Needless to say he was not impressed of the experience I had been having. It wasn't until after the designer contacted the store that suddenly my dress was being shipped to Adelaide.
Now, just for the icing on the cake. The store rang me on the wednesday to say it had arrived in their store. Excellent! They assured me it would be express posted to me on the Thursday... arriving here on the Friday. Suprise suprise.. no package on the Friday. I rang them on Saturday to get the tracking number... surely they were telling the truth and it must have been an australia post issue, right? Wrong!! My dress was still there!!!!!! Seriously you cant even post an already packaged parcel on time????
Worst shopping experience I have ever had... and way more stressful than it needed to be. 8 months and lots and lots of stress later I finally have my dress. Would hate to think when it would have come had i not...
Read moreI had a lovely experience at Adelaide Bridal Emporium! I came in Jan 24 during one of their new year sales to find my wedding dress. I was really overwhelmed with the selection. With the help of Sue, the first dress she picked for me to try on was the one! Sue respected by budget and also allowed me to try on types of dresses that I initially had in mind to make sure I was happy with my decision (which was complete opposite to what I thought I wanted!!) The whole team at ABE made me feel so comfortable and at ease which I appreciated.
The reason I am rating 3 stars is the sizing of the dresses. I can only speak for the specific dresses that I tried on, however the dress I said yes to was a size 6. I am a size 12 and that dress was the only size available to try on in that style. The ladies helped make it fit with extra panels in the back. By trying to get the dress up my hips, the back of the dress actually split and broke. The other dresses I tried on were all smaller sizes as well and I found this quite disappointing- as the average sized woman is a size 14-16. I can just imagine a person who is a size 14 + wanting to try this dress on but not able to which is sad !! I think having slightly bigger sizes would be beneficial to a customers experience and overall outcome. The ladies helping me into the dress never made me feel big or bad about it at all, if anything they were eager to make it work and didn't see it as an issue which I loved. I am thankful where I am in a position where I am comfortable within my own skin, but I worry about other people that may feel insecure or aren't as confident/comfortable with their bodies.
Another thing to keep in mind- they do not offer alteration services . If you purchase your dress, you will need to outsource alterations. I felt like I was not properly informed about this.
Thank you to the staff at ABE! What a wonderful and memorable experience I will...
Read moreMy best friend, the bride, ordered 3 bridesmaids dresses and her wedding dress through Adelaide Bridal Emporium. One month before the wedding we received a phone call to be told the wrong bridesmaids dresses had been ordered. Needless to say, we were all very upset and went to visit the shop to work it out.
We turned up and were expecting the owner, Nina to greet us and help us. No she wasnât in. The girl helping us was on her first day back after a three week holiday and barely knew our situation. We tried on the wrong dresses and they were terrible! We were expecting options and solutions when we got there, instead we were asked âwhat are your alternatives?â Excuse me?! You should have been bending over backwards to fix your mistake. Not putting it on us, the paying customers, to figure it out. In the end we were told to just wait to here back from the factory.
Another day later we finally got the call that the dresses couldnât be made in time. And we received a full refund just 25 days before the wedding. I understand mistakes happen but the way this was handled was appalling. I am so disappointed in how we were treated.
After the whole bridesmaids dress disaster the bride was only offered $50 off her alterations as compensation. She went to pick up her dress and finally be done with you and the alterations hadnât even been finished! There was missing beading on the bodice, that I actually pointed out in her fitting, that we were assured would be fixed and it wasnât! They had weeks to finish it and it still wasnât done. She had to leave and come back in a couple hours to give them time to do it. An absolute joke. I cannot believe the way we were all treated and how the situations were handled.
There are so many other bridal shops in...
