Chef Dong — Restaurant in Adelaide

I don't normally write review but I feel like I have to do for this place. I had a dinner with family and friends like 4 adults and 4kids . Firstly portion of dish is way too small and not worth the price. I ordered 7 dishes initially but that wasn't enough for 8 ppl(4 kids) so had to order one more dish. Salt and pepper chicken was all over the batter crumbs and hardly found actual chicken meat. Braised pork was dry and tough.. I couldn't believe this is braised pork. The rest of dish were also below average. I spent 280$for the dinner but tummy wasn't full and food was below average. Even My 9 yrs old girl told me she doesn't wanna go back and not worth the money at all.

Secondly the male staff was not friendly at all My husband wanted to confirm the dish we ordered, he seemed afraid we might change the menu and showing that face like" what are u talking about,and saying we don't have that dish" I was shocked that he gave us that attitude.

Thirdly food came out one by one slowly meantime I had to remind them to serve rice and our drinks several times.

I'm not even Chinese but I can say I can cook way better than their food.

So am I going bk ?? No way. That was the worst Chinese restaurant...

I visited Adelaide on the 11th September and my son and his wife took me for dinner to Chef Dong at Payneham Rd, St Peters SA 5069. My son and his wife are regular customers at this resturant. The resturant was awsome, including the food and staff. The lady who served us Tao was very attentative and helpful too. When my son to told her it was my birthday she even gave a surprise in getting me a small complimentary ice cream cake with a lit candle. The fresh spicy mud crab I had was prepaired so very well. I have decided to visit this resturant many more time to enjoy the fresh mud crab before I get back home to Sydney. I wish all the staff at Chef Dong's resturant the very best for the future of the resturant in syaing,

Some of the worst customer service I ever experienced. The food was nice, did advise that I was highly allergic to MSG and they did agree to not add it in our food! Whilst eating a green vegetable dish, I was shocked to pull out of my mouth a long, dark hair strand. We were mortified and they did not care at all. Clearly SORRY does not exist in their vocabulary!

I'm a business owner and the FIRST thing I would have done was an apology, then definitely not charged them for the bill then offered a voucher for next time!

The only thing they offered was no charging the vegetable dish and they bought us out 3 x coconut squares , with all due respect, smelt like toilet cleaner!

As we were leaving the restaurant, the staff had a good old chuckle and we turned around and told them where to go!

Then my girlfriend puked in the carpark.

We WERE loyal customers they will never see us nor our friends...
