The team at Peet was able to help my partner and I get into our apartment even through the tough Covid period. In early 2021 I had signed for an apartment that was offered by Peet through the builder BuildTec. The apartment had high end finishes along with high end appliances as stock standard along with other beautiful features such as stone bench top. Not to mention at an amazing (inflation free) price which was an added bonus!
Unfortunately due to Covid the build was delayed for about 9-10 months on the Arete apartment building. Whilst it was a challenging time and at times rather disheartening seeing the end date being pushed back several times, people need to understand that this was out of Peet’s control and BuildTec had to work with strict government guidelines which were pretty rough. Although there was a delay in the apartments being finished, the end result was to what I would describe as high quality and worth the wait.
My partner and I had the pleasure of dealing with several stakeholders within the Peet team that were in charge of the Tonsley Village project. I had a lot of contact and dealings with Beverley D. I can honestly say by far she is one of the most helpful, kind, empathic and supportive people I’ve ever met in this industry. Having had a construction background from years ago, it was a breath of fresh air being able to have someone like Beverley to liaison with and be able to freely contact and communicate with on regular basis in regards to the build and the progress.
Beverley was able to assist my partner and I get into our apartment during a very stressful time when the banks weren’t being helpful. She went out of her way to ensure our settlement process would go smooth and even after we moved in she was very kind and helpful and offered her support even after she had done her job! Beverley made this wait for our apartment worth it and due to her professionalism, hard work and support along with Mandy my partner and I decided to invest and purchase another property in the Tonsley Village.
Another person that helped us through our process was Mandy. She did a fantastic job with any questions we had in regards to the developments at Tonsley and what was coming up and things to get excited over. The area itself speaks volume however Mandy’s knowledge, expertise and passion for the area helped my partner and I bite the bullet and sign for another property! We are now eagerly waiting for the beginning of our future bigger place to call home. Mandy was fantastic and always checked up on us and treated us with the utmost respect and care, which in the end made it even easier for us to sign on the dotted lines! Unfortunately Mandy is very good at her job which meant my partner and I chose all the upgrades to our next property which drove the price up. However Mandy did such an amazing job showing us in person the upgrades that we just couldn’t say no!
Whilst at first there was some miscommunication, Daimon was very helpful in helping my partner and I get the right paperwork for our grant. When we didn’t have enough paper and the right one Daimon was able to produce the right paperwork for us in a timely manner after we had settled and moved into our property. It was very much appreciated.
Lastly BuildTec did a fantastic job in the middle of a horrific two years for the building Industry. With limited workers at times, tough and somewhat ridiculous rules in place during covid, and with some unfortunate delay - they were able to produce a high quality building. The finishes were very good and minimal faults which was a great sight to see. They have now built the best apartment complex in the Tonsley village and have set high expectations for more to come. Credit has to be given to them for the finished product.
Overall, during a crazy two years with lots of setbacks and a pandemic, the team and Peet in conjunction with BuildTec did a great job considering the circumstances on delivering the Arete...
Read morePEET'S new development is in an 'innovation district', but don't be fooled: there is very little innovation in their builds. But the reason I leave this review is not to share the shortcomings of innovation, but to warn potential property buyers of the issues with energy supply.
Tonsley Village is on an 'embedded electricity network'. Marketers (and PEET) would tell you that this promises greener, cheaper energy. However, in reality, it leaves residential customers with almost no say in choosing their energy supplier and at mercy of the in effect 'default' energy supplier (Clean Peak Energy). While it is technically possible to opt out and find another energy supplier, there are prohibitive costs and it's, to be honest, a minefield. For residents on an 'embedded electricity network', if prices are put up, there is really no option but to accept the price hikes and very little consumer protection, as there would be for customers on the national grid.
PEET is guilty of not being honest with its customers and not making the above transparent. PEET promises 'would be residents' cheaper greener energy but has no way of keeping this promise.
I would strongly recommend anyone looking to buy in Tonsley Village to research the above so you understand what you're signing up to before...
